Bfg22 Neutral Newbie February 15, 2004 Share February 15, 2004 price difference will be pretty great... if u really wanna compare why not get the Acccent 1.5m instead... anyway if u can wait, I will suggest the Toyota Vios.. For obvious reasons... my 2 cents worth.
Coyote Neutral Newbie February 16, 2004 Share February 16, 2004 You must ask yourself, what are you looking for in a car. Just price alone may not be enough. If you want the car to transport you from pt A to pt B alone, than accent is OK. However, if you want better performance, spacious, etc, can consider or cars like vios. I am using spectra and I am happy with the car cos it satisfy my needs.
Cashiertan Neutral Newbie February 18, 2004 Share February 18, 2004 (edited) hyudai spare parts quite exp and their air con tend to give problem after 3 years. Also Hyundai cars has higher FC than toyotas. vios = abs, twin airbag and vvti engine... However, vios spare will be relatively cheaper as there are many vios around town. if you ask me, proton will be a better value coz their spare parts and mod is dirt cheap in JB. Fav chioce Vios=>city=>proton=>hyundai Edited February 18, 2004 by Cashiertan
San853 1st Gear February 21, 2004 Share February 21, 2004 Why don't you consider a Kia Rio? I was driving an Accent and intended to get a replacement Accent as she's fast approaching 10 years old. The 2004 Accent didn't come with tilt steering, power mirrors and vanity mirror (unlike my 1994 Accent which comes with these items inclusive). Some ppl might not find these items a necessity, but why I needed them is.... Item 1: I'm tall, so a tilt steering gives me some breathing space for my legs Item 2: Could you imagine if your baby were to push the mirror knob when you were driving? Item 3: Something wives need when applying cosmetics while you are driving After some consideration, I settled for the Rio. Came wif all those stuff (and more in fact) at a fraction of the price. In most cases, you might want to think in the long term on issues such as comfort, depreciation, maintenance, parts etc. Personally, i am the kind of person who will prefer to pay slightly more or ease of mind. It all depends on you.
Vivioman Neutral Newbie February 21, 2004 Share February 21, 2004 Bewteen Jap/Thai (Vios) vs Korean (Accent) heritage alone, I would tend to choose the former. Not being biased, just my frank opinion that the Vios, though Thai made, is still a Toyota.
Mitga Neutral Newbie February 21, 2004 Share February 21, 2004 (edited) Guess, it boils down to what are the features we are l@@king for exactly. i find: Space versatility: city Style: city (gotta change the tyres to the wider lower profile one. Em, stock tyres kinda too skinny for city when views from back) Fuel economy: vios (though my friend's vios drinks furiously. About the same as his previous VW Bora. Guess driving habit kills. ) Lower price: accent (my friends accent is still going very strong. After all, guess Korea has indeed improved alot. The recent survey in USA showed that Hyundai has come up among tops in the aspect of reliability. ) Whichever car, the buyer/ owner must feel shiok. LTA will be even happier. Mitga Neutral Newbie February 23, 2004 Share February 23, 2004 Heya, bro, i certainly agree with you, if base on car maker's FC data, even in the case of "civic Vs rolla". Civic is supposed to be more "FC friendly" than rolla. But, seems most rolla/vios owners/friends feedback with very great FC for rolla/vios, better than civic/city. Kekee.. Guess driving style does matter. Cheers,
Vtim 3rd Gear February 23, 2004 Share February 23, 2004 Kekee.. Guess driving style does matter. yes it really does, I'm only getting 360km for 47L for my Focus

Mitga Neutral Newbie February 23, 2004 Share February 23, 2004 Oh, that s about 7.7Km/L. Seems kinda low. Guess your right foot has been very active on the accelerator pedal. Hehee.. Yeah, sometimes (or rather, most of the time), we just wanna have some fun when the TP isn't in sight. Yeas, heard that the handling of Focus is very good.
