Matrix Handling

Hi Guys

Just got my matrix last. Have been enjoying my ride and frankly speaking no regrets. As for FC, I'm doing about 11+km/Lite for 1.6A. Pretty light footed and never crossed 3000 rpm.

However I do have some doubts about my matrix handling. Previously I was driving a Nissan March. Here are the following doubts which I hope all bros out there can help

1)I realise that the power steering is pretty heavy. For a while I thought there is no power steering oil!!!

2)When travelling on straight road, i realise that the my steering wheel needs to tilt a few degrees to the left to keep my vehicle straight. Just a few degrees and not significant. Is that normal or am i being too paranoid?

3)When i make a turn to a straight/main road, the steering wheel would normally unwind itself until the car is straight. However for my matirx, the steering wheel would unwind but would not straighten the car, I would have to give it a final push before the car is straighten. Is this normal? Cos I never encounter this problem when driving my tortise march.

Congrats on your new ride...

FYI.. Me driving Jazz..

1) My steering also quite heavy probably due to stocked RIMS/TYRES.. Sports Rims/Tyres I tried driving another fren jazz. Its extremely light... so that's the difference I found..

2) My steering wheel also tilted... just a bit... its normal...

3) Your matrix is so much huge and heavier than MARCH... so cannot expect ownself turn back... mine also cannot straighten fully itself... I rather turn myself... once lazy... forever lazy.. sly.giflaugh.gif

HAVE FUN !!! Vroom vroom..

matrix body is heavy right? that can explain the power steering bit.

don't forget, steering is also dependent on body weight. ur march shld be much lighter than the matrix.

another thing is sg roads are slightly slanted to the left for drainage purpose. so don't be too alarmed if it veers left slightly

Same case for my old man's Matrix (A) as well [sweatdrop]

Hi,Rayleigh

If steeling wheel is heavy,gd,why?

it will give u more feedback when u corner...

tilt to the left,by deflaut the road is make tilt abit to the left,so when raining the water will flow to the left, which is the slow traffic lane, imagine tilt to the right?

for 3......normal

Do come and join us for meetup [thumbsup][nod]

Hi King

Thanks for the reply. I went for the 1000 km servicing and hightlighted this problem to them on tuesday. And you know what thy did? As one of the forumer had encountered. they swap the front two wheels, left to right and right to left.

When the TA by the name ER mentioned this to me, i knew this guy was bxxxxxxtting. And he tried to pull a fast one by saying that sometime the tread on the tire could be thicker!!!!!

After collected my car, my assumption was right, the steering now is to the tilt sightly to the right. I wanted to went back to the servicing center and was held back cos mine was a new car. I do not want my car to be raped.

I have decided to go to one of the tire specialist shop outside or live with it cos no big deal. Just have to overcome my psychological obstacle. Imagine me telling this incident to my colleague to see their reaction!!! damn sucks feeling. what an incompetent bunch of idiots!!!!!

My conclusion, I do not think it is due to the raod anymore.
