Super7 Turbocharged September 14, 2002 Share September 14, 2002 (edited) Hi Paul, I am an admirer of the de Dion suspension ... other than the AR75, what other cars current (or not so old) cars use this setup? In case i am hunting for another car, at least i can narrow my choices Cheers YS Edited September 14, 2002 by Ysfoo ↡ Advertisement

Nilkz Neutral Newbie September 14, 2002 Share September 14, 2002 Hi Sky8807, thanks, noted the number incase i have any urgent tyre/battery problem when i am near the office... by the way, i changed to kumhos today as the old tyres were getting worn out and unbearably noisy... thanks

Pauly75ts Neutral Newbie September 15, 2002 Share September 15, 2002 "what other cars current (or not so old) cars use this setup?" Hi! there, Ysfoo, You know the Lotus7 has it. Aston Martin Vantage too. Rgds Paul Yong
Super7 Turbocharged September 15, 2002 Share September 15, 2002 (edited) ok, i got to work out something so that at least i can have a chance to drive the Lotus Super 7 before the garmen decides it's too old to have a driving licence beyond 65 years old.... still quite a long way to go ... kinda self-consolation, the Aston Martin is abit out of reach, at least in this life... seriously, are these the only other two cars which use the deDion setup? .... Pauly75ts Neutral Newbie September 15, 2002 Share September 15, 2002 "are these the only other two cars" Hi! there, Ysfoo, These are the ones that I can think of. I was told the Rover 2000TC also has it, but, I didn't get a chance to look under it. Rgds Paul Yong
Yttrium Neutral Newbie September 15, 2002 Author Share September 15, 2002 I think performance wise you should be happy with these tyres. How's the noise so far? not too bad I suppose?
Yttrium Neutral Newbie September 15, 2002 Author Share September 15, 2002 7-heaven hotel? You were in 7th heaven after looking at my car? Yeah the seats are stock and still in very good shape. Took me a few days to get used to the seating position though, had a little bit of backache initially. Don't worry I'll take good care of her for myself... or for the next owner Would be a pity to scrap it wouldn't it?
Yttrium Neutral Newbie September 15, 2002 Author Share September 15, 2002 No worries! I don't mind.... just don't keep pulling the same one ... don't want one getting longer than the other
Super7 Turbocharged September 15, 2002 Share September 15, 2002 oh yeah, the Rover 2000TC did have the deDion susp, read about it before, you are right , i remember sitting in my friend's dad's TC way back, nice English car ( but i think it's designed by Italian designer)... btw if we organise a karting day (or night) at Permas track, will you be interested? .... karts have no suspension but we can practise car controls with them ..... mega counter steer and throttle controls to steer the car.... good stuff mate cheers
Super7 Turbocharged September 15, 2002 Share September 15, 2002 yeah man, after checking out your Prelude, i was definitely in 7 heavens.... that place is not a bad place to have meetup, as long as there number is not too large..... let's see if we can meet there one day.... cheers
Pauly75ts Neutral Newbie September 15, 2002 Share September 15, 2002 "karting day (or night) at Permas track" Hi! there, Ysfoo, Call me, and I'll tag along. But I don't think I'll kart, as I don't seem to have an interest in it. Not to mention, getting my old bones shaken to dust. Last Sat., blew my a/c compressor, while having a run together with a friend's 156 manual, we were on the way to meet a bunch of friends who were on the way down from KL. Super7 Turbocharged September 16, 2002 Share September 16, 2002 blowing your ac compressor? sorry to hear about that..... i didn't know pushing the car can cause harm to ac system ... how come? cheers
Pauly75ts Neutral Newbie September 16, 2002 Share September 16, 2002 "blowing your ac compressor?" Hi! there, Ysfoo, I would have thought that it was a leisurely drive to the toll station for the meet. After breakfast, it was drag down the roads, until the both of us lost another friend, on a Punto, who's stuck in traffic. When we hit the highway, I wound up my windows, and made a mistake of switching on the a/c, at 190. Rgds Paul Yong
Nilkz Neutral Newbie September 16, 2002 Share September 16, 2002 I think performance wise you should be happy with these tyres. How's the noise so far? not too bad I suppose? Hi Yttrium, The tyres are performing ok but they are stil new i am stil treating them with a bit of TLC, no heavy braking and cornering yet i consider the noise level as good but as others have pointed out, it might be a tad noisy, think it should be after a fair bit of use so mine are still excellent (for my ears..) cheers ↡ Advertisement
