Wheel balancing

Hey thanks :-) I've got a Stamford Tyre outlet here next to my office in Bukit Batok. Not sure if they've got high speed balancing. Now i'm not sure whether to try normal balancing again or just go for on wheel high speed balancing..

Btw your name sounds familiar... had a primary school classmate with that name [sly]

That's what the opening price was and then I told the lady boss that my friend only paid $15 for his (slip of the tongue, I meant $85) and her jaw dropped [jawdrop]

[laugh][laugh][laugh]

Anyway settled for $90 in the end.. heh

They're great. I'm not sure if there's an improvement in grip over the previous set which were Goodyear Eagle F1s but definitely quieter! [nod]

Now I've got an uneven humming sound... I suspect coming from the rears, Yoko A520s that I have not changed. Can't be the front right? Since they're new.

Yeah weird huh? I got the car with front F1s and rear Yokos and didn't figure on changing them since they seemed to have quite a bit of life left. That is until the front right sidewall punctured... [shakehead]

Better change them soon, different tyres might destabilize the car in adverse conditions, due to the different characteristic and grip patterns of the threads [gossip]

Hi! there, Yttrium,

I have an Alfa mechanic who does my car in JB, but it's only for parts change, as he's quite old already, so cannot do engine o/haul, near to Best World.

This Sat. not fixing my car, but to meet a group of Italian car drivers coming down from KL & Kuantan.

Give me a call if you want to go in to JB, and I'll check my schedule or if I finish work early.

Hi! there, Magfocus,

I haven't used the same type of tyres on the front & rear for quite a long time. [dizzy]

Currently, Goodyear Aquatred in front, with corner on one side bald, so can have slick performance on the outer track. [laugh][bounce1] Falken GRB in the rear.

Another set of GY at home, to change when my slicks or GRB wear out first.

Sometimes things are not so simple! You'll find out as time goes on........... [:p] I had a big puncture with my stock tyre (Firestone 700 - NOT available locally) which renders it unrepairable. So I had to change 2 CSCs as the other 2 Firestones were still very usable.

Anyway, a couple of trips to the track straightens things out as all 4 tyres ended pretty chewed up. So in goes 4 new R1Rs! As arse luck goes, I had 2 more unrepairable punctures with the R1Rs but this time got lucky since stock is available and I needed to change 1 tyre at a time. After the last puncture, I bathed with 7 flowers water as advised by my more knowledgeable friends! [laugh][laugh] So far so good, I've passed >1/2 year without a puncture!

Of course further track sessions chewed up my R1Rs pretty quick and I'm shod with Kumho 712s now as my wallet is starting to protest!

All in all, in the brief history of my car, 2 1/4 year, I've bought 12 pcs of tyres! [sweatdrop] CSC - 2, R1R - 6 and Kumho - 4.

Yep same as mine. When I changed my rims, the #$^#$%^$ blew my bridgestones, but gave me CSCs in replacement. so mine are diff front and bak.

Farni thing is the other day changed brakes, and did a front/back rotation, alignment a wee bit off, and was told tyre wear, thus, when change all 4 do alignment then,.....might not be for quite a while tho.

Wheel balancing was done ( not high speed tho) but above 160, still smooth and no vibes! [nod]

Thus, now have two CSC front and BGstone bak!
