Fulcrum Clutched June 28, 2004 Share June 28, 2004 Nice car Have any idea how big the boot is?
Tanzy Clutched June 28, 2004 Share June 28, 2004 WoW! A bit on the expensive side considering that the 6 cylinder Z4 2.5 is only $200K. I wonder if the metal roof is really worth it? I know I won't trade 6 cylinders for a supercharged 4.
Bluz Neutral Newbie June 28, 2004 Author Share June 28, 2004 boot size? no idea--prob cannot fit a golf bag (unless driver/woods leave in the front)--like most roadsters.
Bluz Neutral Newbie June 28, 2004 Author Share June 28, 2004 If i remember corectly the Z4 2.5 was launched at around that price too. It was only recently that it came down to $200K. Trading in the 6 cycliner for a 4-pot can be painful and takes some getting used to...
Tanzy Clutched June 29, 2004 Share June 29, 2004 Ya, the Z4 was launched at $210K. Perhaps the SLK 200 saves on road tax. I think the SLK 350 V6 should be a sweet car but $4000+ for road tax? Urgh... Anyway, time for a test drive to compare it with the Z4.
Tron Neutral Newbie June 29, 2004 Share June 29, 2004 BOOT??? a 2 seater, 2 door - a fun convertible tat is close in size to an MRS/Z4 and one thinks of the boot size?? i think the creator of the SLK hear this sure heartbroken...!
Tanzy Clutched June 29, 2004 Share June 29, 2004 Actually, I figure the Z4 boot is about 250L and will hold 2 golf bags and a soft bag nicely. Not absolutely sure since I don't play golf but just looking at it I guess it should fit. SLK will definitely try to match if not beat that size. Slayer Clutched June 29, 2004 Share June 29, 2004 Side track abit... any idea how much is the Maclaren SLR? Thats a very cool car with the Air brake.
Tron Neutral Newbie June 29, 2004 Share June 29, 2004 heh... frankly speaking most every sports car and or coupe claims to have a big boot for 1001 golf bags and such .... simply just to be politically correct and in line wit the competition tat always claim a sporty character for their car and a big boot to carry all ur luggage!! i mean even the rx-8 claims to have a big boot... but on wat terms? Johnchong Neutral Newbie June 29, 2004 Share June 29, 2004 Hey, just wondering. How come u prefer 6 cylinders to 4? Even if the power output is abt the same? Wat's the diff? I haven driven a 6 cylinder car, so i dunno... Hehe, i prefer Z4's looks. SLK gives me the impression tat it's a poor man's SLR.
Bluz Neutral Newbie June 29, 2004 Author Share June 29, 2004 (edited) Last time i checked (2 mths ago) the 2.2 is not available in Sg. Lowest model here is the 2.5 Steptronic or SMG your choice. Edited June 29, 2004 by Bluz ↡ Advertisement
