there are a few audio shops at alexandra village (near the food courts of AIA alexandra) You can try them.

the one you mentioned is Pin Liang at Zion road... usually crowded, so I guess you need to make an appointment.

I went to ping liang at Zion Road jus now...you are right...pretty packed with cars waiting to do up their systems.

I ask one of the auntie boss to quote me the price of changing the HU (including taking out the cables for my old 10 disc changer cable) plus fixing door speakers to about $60.

is the price reasonable?

Try Hollywood Auto Trading at 12 Cheong Chin Nam Road, next to Teochew porridge stall.

It's opposite Beauty World Plaza.

So far, their prices are as competitive as Sim Lim Tower, if not better.

Lotsa brands to choose from too.

Look for Richard and find out more.

He wont pressure you into buying fancy brands or prices.

P/S I saw a 8" second hand Bazooka in his shop during lunch today and he's selling it at only $100. [nod]

I "harass" Richard quite a bit coz he's pretty easy going, although I must admit he doesnt look so.

Think its a fair price lah, most shops charge around the same price. I installed my speakers at Y2K's branch for $70, quite a bit of work actually 'cos they had to customise the mounting bracket for the speakers and pull the cables etc to mount the tweeter on the dashboard.

Whichever shop you used, it is always wise to watch what they are doing if you can spare the time. The reasons are obvious. Many colleagues and aquaintances have bad experience with these installers, even very famous ones.
