Agnoxis 3rd Gear July 17, 2004 Share July 17, 2004 Hi I went to Seng Long Workshop in Bukit Merah Lane (near Alexandra Village) for my first car servicing for my recently-acquired Suzuki Swift and the charges are as follows: - Oil Filter $10 - Air Filter $15 - Engine Oil $28 - Spark Plugs (Set of 3) $12 - Labour $15 Are these charges reasonable? I don't really know much about what parts they used, except that they used mineral oil (dun even know what brand) and Denso spark plugs I think...if they're ok, then perhaps I should just keep going back there for convenience's sake... BTW, how long can the 4 litres of engine oil last? I know that servicing should be done every 5000km but would there be any drastic consequences if I were to do it every 6000km instead? Take in mind I'm gonna scrap the car in another 1.5 yrs, so don't really need it to last so long, in fact, already got quite a few marks here and there on chassis liaoz hehehe... ↡ Advertisement
Phochem Neutral Newbie July 17, 2004 Share July 17, 2004 Stick to 5k per change if using mineral oil, dun exceed lah. There are many good synthetic oil ard at a good price. e.g. Royal purple...

Yeobh 4th Gear July 19, 2004 Share July 19, 2004 Profit margin from parts are just too low to keep the shop going, they need to bill labour charges. Workshops are actually selling labour , spart parts is secondary
Capricorn Neutral Newbie July 19, 2004 Share July 19, 2004 Hello... like to share my experienced with Kah Motors with you guys. I juz went for a 40k major servicing for my City last week and cost me $500. The descriptions are: 1.Changed front brakes 2.Changed battery (normal type) 3.Changed necessary fluids (not coolant) That's all. The problem was that my fren's 2.3l Accord also cost $500 for the major servicing at Kah Motors. So is not the model of the car that matters??? ↡ Advertisement
