i-vtec is the improvement of vtec, for 2l and above engines.

 

depending on application, the redline is adjustable. my stream redline at 6800rpm, whereas my previous city's vtec engine redline at 7200rpm.

dunno how to answer this your question. i-vtec usually found on 2l and above engine, so i guess it will be faster in terms of speed if compared to vtec engines, usually found in 1.7l and below.

my car is a 2002 Vti civic stock. no mods. cvt not manual.

 

consumption is about 14.5km/l using 2000 or 5000 mobil petrol with rpm keeping at <2000rpm for most of the time. occasionally rev to 2500rpm.

 

for normal driving ie >2000rpm consumption is about 11 to 13 km/l.

 

does anyone know how to get more out of the petrol?

 

i have not try octance 98 yet. from from data on 92 and 95 there seems to be little difference.
