hi all,

 

woah this topic is really hot. just want to put on record here that road hoggers suck big time. and yes road hoggers do cause accidents. anyway i realize that quite a few people here still suffer from a colonial hangover and think that most if not all continental cars are superior... well i used to think that way when i was in secondary school... grow up guys and stop making sweeping statements like that... each car serves a particular purpose... the vios is a budget car for city driving... the saab? it is a 'high performance' ikea box carrying vehicle that only drives fast in a striaght line but understeers badly in corners and has dead steering... well i am unsure abt the current models but the 2.3t 9000 which i have once driven years back has serious turbo lag...and not to mention that saabs are rather overweight... and yes i would also like to point out that the lighter car doesnt necessarily mean a less sturdier car.... why do most singaporeans who i have come across think like this? take a close hard look at the lotus cars...

 

well enuf said... the sweeping statements just irks me.. sorry... just fyi one of my favourite car is the saab 93 aeroback....

vios is light n quite fast,k hit 190km/hr

This morning saw some quick fast and furious action in front of me along Nicole Highway towards CBD.

 

There I saw, on lane one, a SAAB being tailed by a Vios with the SAAB simple not wanting to yield at all (speed about 80kmh). The Vios must have dropped gear and floored, going into lane 2 (must have hit 100kmh+). Then the action begins with both cars side by side going into the S-bends.

 

Into the first right bend they're still side by side, but as the 2nd bend (left bend) comes up, the SAAB brakes and the Vios hold his corner well and blasts off all the way straight towards the Esplanade area.

 

Heard of a saying before... "Straights are for fast cars, corners are for fast drivers"

Think the SAAB bit off more than he could chew on that Vios driver.

 

for 100+ km/hr,i think the SAAB can win the Vios easily...

maybe what u said is true,"Straights are for fast cars, corners are for fast drivers"..

was the bend very curve???if not maybe the SAAB driver was thinking not worth playing with a Vios...or the wife inside complaint n ask the driver to drive slower
