Andrewkb Neutral Newbie August 31, 2004 Share August 31, 2004 I noticed that most (if not all cars) has different height at all 4 corners of the car ... After some email exchanges with the coilover engineer, they mentioned that there is this thing called "Corner Balancing" ! Does anyone do this before ? Or just leave the 4 corners as it is ? If you're free, take a tape and measure all 4 wheelarch to the floor/mid of rims and U'll be surprised ! ↡ Advertisement
Ace_t Neutral Newbie August 31, 2004 Share August 31, 2004 Agree with your observations. Perhaps all the 4 corners have unevenly distributed weight, from the components. (eg location of alternator, engine, cabling etc etc) also I think not all dampers and springs react uniformally against a certain weight. I seen some cars which appear lopsided on a seemingly even surfaced roads. For me, I'd leave it as it is.. unless of course if the variation is way too obvious. Andrewkb Neutral Newbie August 31, 2004 Author Share August 31, 2004 (edited) Because I'm using coilovers and I am adjusting myself, so got worried .. In conclusion, don't worry was what I was told .. For street car, today you might have 3 passengers, tomorrow 2, next day 5 ... so that changes too. For track use, they actually get the driver to sit in the car, weight all 4 corners, and adjust accordingly ! See this attachment .. it's a corner balancing sheet ... even with pro equipment, the after adjustment results are still not perfect. Apparently, it's for right hand drive car, since the right side is higher than the left. Edited August 31, 2004 by Andrewkb
Saaber Neutral Newbie August 31, 2004 Share August 31, 2004 not suitable for street use cars...unless yours is purely used for track or most of the time only you driving it then it is worth doing the corner balancing.... if you want to know just the weight at each corners, you can go to Leong Seng to do it....
