Reinforced Bumper

Just a thought wouldnt it be nice if we can add on reinforcement to our bumper like steel plates inside the bumper.

it can be done if u want... but wouldn't it affect the handling characteristics of ur ride?

handling care to elaborate ??? the onie down side is FC as the bumber is heavier.

umm..well, assuming u fit steel bars (no point fitting aluminium rite?)into the front end, then the weight distribution fo the car would be altered, thus affecting the way your car handles arounds corners and would prob extend your braking distance...

so my front will be "lowered" in some ways it does affect suspension

all depends on the weight of the bar....

 

but why consider it in the first place? what if, touch-wood, u get into an accident and the 3rd party sues you for having an aggressive fixture to your vehicle making accidents more damaging for human life?

In the past bumpers are quite solid one nowadays due to cost saving the materials used are lighter (FC better) not really durable in times of small impact eg. brushed the side wall some ppl even have to use bumper protector to protect the bumper that protects the car.

i doubt this doesn't apply to those conti car..
