Anyway, good to emphasize again and again. hehe... it's ok... anyway... now really cunfused abt the bass now... not sure if i should use back the box to get the "feel" back a not... but one the other hand, the HDs sound really good... considering abt getting another amp for it... In fact, my personal feel is not no upgrade on ICE is necessary unless either of these is taken care of... yes, its subjective. 1. use tyres that is quiet (eg St115?) 2. soundproof the car With noise, any ICE upgrade is wasted as you cannot enjoy any music with road noise as background. Its like eating Katong laksa with sand in it... no matter how good the laksa is, the traces of sand will kill the enjoyment of the product. My 2 cents worth... your thots? Road noise is inevitable.. the trick is how much can your surpress which re-interpret as how much you want to spend on it to make it "perfect". However, a good ICE will drown the road noise if you blast it.. from my DIY experience, I sound proof my car to prevent my car from shattering when I blast it. Cos mine is a corolla and the body is rather "Tin Can". Must admit that I have not sat in a professionally ICE car with professional sound proofing. (firstly, I am not going to spend $1K+ on sound proofing). Therefore, I cannot comment as the quality varies with different make of the car. ICED soluna's car should be much better then mine anytime. The problem I have is that my 150watt LANSTAR amp is not power full to drive my infinity woofer and often the base "cracks" as it is under powered. A good amp will make a lot of difference. BTW.. ST115 sucks, it is quiet for the 1st month only. I used to own it for 3 months till I changed to Michelin. That is not a fair judgement as there is not car that is completely quiet, not even the top classed Lexus... Yes, it is subjective but it can be justified... Not everyone can afford a car like lexus, certainly not everone is willing to spend that extra to sound proof their car... A car can never sound as good as those of home systems... well... All i can say is that if the money spent on a home system is spent on ICE, it can sound just as good or maybe even better depending on the installer, the car itself etc etc... then it's a very subjective issue. Well if what you say is true, then I should not have spent all those moolas on my ICE even, as my car is the lowest grade toyota, a Soluna. The tyres that I am using is from Malaysia called Simex. It's one of the noisiest tyres around I assure you... But after adding some simple sound proofing, I can say this... It is more quite than may stock cars around without the sound proofing. All I can say is this... for myself, when I am listening to the music @ a comfortable level, the back ground noise is not very audiable. Anyway I do most of the driving in the city area and not highway... I do admit that when I drive along the NSHW, the tyre noise is quite bad, but nothing unsolvable... just change to a better tyre... maybe to like what you have recommended, Falken ST1150. Have you listened to my car before?? and that crack is not underpowered... it sounds like that your woofers are "clipping", meaning that your gain is setup too high... just a rule of thumb... the gain settings should never be set past the 12 o'clock mark... anything after that may result to clipping or even worst, spoiling your speakers. anyway you said that ST115 sucks... any other tyres to recommend that is like the ST115, quite and that has excellent grip?? but last through the tyre's life??
