Wat's the difference between VTEC and i-vtec?

I noticed in the Honda Accord brochure that the 3L model has VTEC, while the 2.4L model has i-VTEC. The brochure does explain a bit, something to do wif fuel economy, but i still dun get it. If it offers no drop in performance, why dun they use it on the 3L model as well?

i-VTEC can also be found in the 2.0 Stream as well..

according to KM's staff, those engine with "i-VTEC" are using chain for their timing belt and the other advantage is the ability to produce better low-end torque.

Visit Temple of VTEC for more info.

VVT and VVTi is the same! Just different people name it differently. VVTi-L is different though. VVTi-L allows the valves to stay open for a longer time to allow better air/fuel intake.
