For a start, avoid Bukit panjang - jurong west - clementi. These will be the only few routes that I'll be taking...until i get the hang of it...then i'll explore other routes.

 

If you see my car on weekends, its fine..can say hello..coz my hubby will be driving...confirm safe one...

Lancer has very adequate spacing similar to Altis. I think it's a fallacy to say that the space is not good. Also, I get between 12-14km/l for my auto Lancer. Is that considered below average?

Yes, it's affordable. let me elaborate more

my previous ride was a 1.5 auto toyota, yearly dep was $6,400

current 1.5 auto city, yearly dep is $5,800

road tax, parkng and insurance abt the same.

used to spend abt $280-$300 on petrol (13km/l) now abt $200 per month (16km/l), that's a lot of savings.

And not to mention honda renowned engineering, more spacious ride, more refined engine and lower maintenance cost.

Do u know the cost of a basic servicing at BM is $200 whereas KM only charge $125?

Do u know the the selling price of Vios was marked up by abt 10K whereas city mark up is abt 7K?

I fully agree with you.

 

I have sat in the Altis and Lancer before, with 3 full size adults at the rear.

 

Both are similar in terms of space, only that the Altis has a higher sitting position , which is more comfortable.

New here.

Looking for an affordable car preferably with some space for occasional lugging of goods.

 

Test drive the Cerato HB Auto last weekend. Quite impressed with the build quality, spaciousness and engine response. However the engine noise and vibration is quite shocking, could feel the vibration very clearly on the foot pedal.

 

Tried the Mit Lancer Auto, everything so so, cannot get used to the CVT gearbox, very rubbery.

 

Tried Matrix. Like the space layout and many thoughtful compartment. Engine and handling not bad but internal build quality ??? Can spot a few uneven plastic joints. Also worry abt high FC.

 

Quite like the Liana HB Auto. Look more solidly built and also higher quality material. Engine power & handling seem adequate for normal driving plus almost as spacious as Matrix.

 

Did not try the Vios, too long waiting plus ??? on service.

 

Sunny is no no for me. Just personal preference, no offence to Sunny owners.

Let me warn you of the Cerato's high fuel consumption of 8 to 10km/l for auto version. IN fact, my friend's got 7.6km/l at its worst.

 

This is due to the Cerato's heavy weight of 1,275kg. Normal 1.6l cars weight 1,100kg on average
