Genie47 1st Gear December 12, 2004 Share December 12, 2004 The general quorum here is that the product with the best shine has shortest protection lifespan. There was a study by some detailing guys. Products like Klasse look very good but by the 13th car wash, the protection has dropped to half. Just like performance and comfort, you cannot get the two together. You just cannot have your cake and eat it. That being said, marine waxes don't look as liquid and as shiny as Zaino or Klasse but has the most and longest protection against corrosion. FYI, you can use marine/boat waxes on cars as well if you can get them easily.
Marcostan 4th Gear December 12, 2004 Share December 12, 2004 This is a tough question to answer. For our Singapore wheather, I can say no sealant can last more than 4 weeks. So, just keep apply the sealant once every 3-4 weeks. This shall keep u babe looking shiny everyday . Two products I recomment for u 1. Autoglym (available everywhere) 2. Klasse (not easy to buy in Singapore) Both sealant can last for 3-4 weeks. But one thing u must know well preparation of the car body is the KEY to let the car body bond w/ the sealant and give u the best result. Kilomatrix 1st Gear December 12, 2004 Share December 12, 2004 I've been sending my car to Autoglym since 1998 and I've also watch how they apply their products to the car. For sealant, it has to be left on the paintwork for close to an hour before removal of the dried chalky compound. They don't recommend applying of sealant that often but they do recommend frequent use of the resin polish.
Marcostan 4th Gear December 12, 2004 Share December 12, 2004 Kilomatrix, If your car body condition is good u can keep apply sealant. If once u feel the car body is no longer smooth then u need to do the Resin Polish first before u apply sealant. U're right for Autoglym product u need to let it set for at least 1 - 1.5 hours b4 u can buff off. If not the result cannot last long. This is the reason I'm not use Autoglym now. Steelblue Neutral Newbie December 12, 2004 Share December 12, 2004 One of the reason I'm not using autoglym either, who's got an hour to spare waiting for sealant to dry.
Tien Neutral Newbie December 12, 2004 Share December 12, 2004 hi, i recently gotten my hands on einszett glanz wax. this brand relatively unheard of in singapore but quite popular in europe and USA. einszett is a synthetic wax, more like a sealant according to US users. it is easy to very apply - my gf spent 20mins to do the whole car! as my car is relatively new, i shall not say glanz wax makes my car shine! after all, which new car doesnt shine? all i would say is that beading effect for this product is fantastic, something i dont see when i was using autoglym or turtle wax. 3 weeks already and the beads are still fantastic. i will post some pics of the tight tiny water beads when i have time. einszett is from germany. the singapore importer is zedott (zedott.com). understand official launch is in jan 05.
