Blue Neutral Newbie November 13, 2002 Share November 13, 2002 Hi Blue, I think the problem with the GTti was that the oil filler cap was not the screw on type. It was more like a insert. A change of the O-ring could solve the problem, i guess. Hi Lordgt Guess you're right, but would'nt be able to try it out now .............. but what then caused the connecting hoses from the snail to the intercooler and also the intercooler to throttle body to pop out? .............................anyway it's history now. Trooper and Pajero was used as an example, it could or might not fit. I'd rather get a brand new one, for that kinda price. eg. $150 second hand, $280 brand new. Wymun Neutral Newbie November 16, 2002 Share November 16, 2002 Just a point of advice for cars with inbuilt ATF coolers; but like me, added an aftermarket one as well. Make sure the mechanic doesn't isolate the new aftermarket cooler from the inbuilt one. Rather he should extend the cooling from the existing setup onto the auxiliary ATF cooler, which then offers better cooling...;) If not, the after-market auxiliary cooler may not be as efficient as stock, simply because it may not be as big..... This doesn't apply to those cars that don't have a pre-existing ATF cooler... Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Wymun Neutral Newbie November 17, 2002 Share November 17, 2002 (edited) I wanted to install an engine oil cooler this weekend actually. Brought along all my engine oil. But, along the way, gave CS Racing and AutoFix a call - found out that no one was around to handle a new oil cooler order/installation. Hence, may have to wait another week... Still, I meant connecting the aftermarket ATF cooler to the inbuilt ATF cooler in series (as you described). Nothing to do with an engine oil cooler (if that's what you meant)...
