Seanboi 1st Gear May 18, 2007 Share May 18, 2007 Sis, i nt sure whether it can display everything. Fyi, it can display up to 6rows of data at a time. gotten from IC's website: Readings*: Speed n RPM n Water Temperature | Fuel Injection Timing | Air Flow Voltage | Intake Air Temperature | Outside Air Temperature | Intake Manifold Pressure | Boost Pressure | O2 Voltage | O2R Voltage | AF1 | AF2 | Mass Air Flow | Battery Voltage | Throttle Position | Auto Transmission Temperature | Gear Position | 4WD Distribution Ratio | Combustion Pressure | Instant Fuel Economy | Fault Detection | Combustion Pressure Control | Fuel Consumption Control | Fan Control | Accepts 1x Blitz Temp Sensor (Optional) | Accepts 1x Blitz Pressure Sensor (Optional) OR 1x Blitz Wide Band O2 Sensor (Optional) * Data readings and functions depend on the make and model of your car. Suitable for all Japanese make except for Mazda. Reading is also possible for various Hyundai, and Volvo cars.
Icekitten Clutched May 18, 2007 Share May 18, 2007 How much do the additional sensors cost, do you know?
Seanboi 1st Gear May 18, 2007 Share May 18, 2007 I duno. Maybe u can check with VBlaster or Chisiang? Hw many gauges do u have currently?
Ml2spin 2nd Gear May 18, 2007 Share May 18, 2007 Read Seanboi's post carefully - Blitz Vit i-Colour only accepts 1 x temp sensor and 1 x pressure or exhaust sensor only - that's only 2 external sensors, compared to the usual six or more for Defi. For NA engines' usual 3 gauges, just get external sensors for oil temp and oil pressure - water temp just use the stock sensor which i-Colour will read from the OBD port. Vblaster_w211 2nd Gear May 18, 2007 Share May 18, 2007 Can't remember how much, but somewhat similar to Delphi sensors. $100+ or so per sensor, but Air Fuel Ratio sensor is many times more expensive. Also, as stated, it reads water temp from ECU, and can only accomodate either 1 x oil temp and 1 x oir pressure, OR 1 x air fuel ratio sensor. Chisiang 2nd Gear May 18, 2007 Share May 18, 2007 So just plug and it gives all the necessary info to be displayed? So example if it is selling at $580, this price is inclusive of installation and it will display all the info accurately? Or additional sensors have to be purchased separately? Do pardon my ignorance. Yeap, plug and play. Remember to connect power source. I'm not sure the $580 is with installation but most workshop will provide free install since it is only a minor job. Additional sensors was sold at $160 each, except the wide band lamda A/F sensor which cost about $700! Exhaust temp is not applicable. When using A/F sensor, the pressure sensor cannot be use because they share the same I/O harness.
Chisiang 2nd Gear May 18, 2007 Share May 18, 2007 Other den the Flash EPROM? Any other differences between this and the normal one? I believe the new R-Vit Flash will definitely have much higher resale value because it can be used on more make and model. The normal R-Vit i-color is only applicable on most Toyota CAN bus equipped cars. Back in January when we were attending the new product briefing at Blitz Tokyo, we were told the new R-Vit i-color can work on continental cars. But I am not sure if this is the one or a separate range will be created just for this.
Chisiang 2nd Gear May 18, 2007 Share May 18, 2007 And also they are coming out with a R-Vit processor which enables you to connect it to a in-car LCD monitor whereby the readouts will be displayed!! But dunno when they will launch it. Price is not known as well.
Vblaster_w211 2nd Gear May 18, 2007 Share May 18, 2007 The R-Vit FLASH sounds like a very good idea - the gadget will continue to be relevant as new cars come onboard!
Seanboi 1st Gear May 18, 2007 Share May 18, 2007 Resale value definitely will be higher. But it would oso cost more than the normal version. Wads the retail price for this? are the latest Toyotas like Vios, Altis equipped with CAN bus? Seems like the old R-VIT works on Vblaster's Merc? Pdesign1 Neutral Newbie May 18, 2007 Share May 18, 2007 If anybody has update on the new R-VIT i-color that can work fully on continental cars, please update on this thread. Have been holding out for it for a long time since Chisiang gave me a heads up that new one suitable for conti will be launch. Wonder if it is the new "flash". Cos I can't find any vehicle compatibility chart for the "flash" nor know of any workshop that has bring "flash" in and allow no obligation plug in trial to see how many parameters that can be read. A fellow car owner has reported that the icolor(non-flash version)can only read below in our car under Honda setting. water temp intake air temp boost rpm speed ignition angle
Chisiang 2nd Gear May 21, 2007 Share May 21, 2007 Agree. Ability to upgrade firmware is certainly the way to go! However, I am not sure if you can do it at home. Most likely you will need to visit the authorise dealers to get it done. An integrated USB port will be even more ideal for upgrading of firmware or data logging The ability of local distributor to communicate consumer needs to manufacturer is extremely crucial if we were to see such features in future products. Let's just hope Lim Tan will be able to pick up from what I left behind carry on to serve our market well.
Chisiang 2nd Gear May 21, 2007 Share May 21, 2007 Recommended retail price is JPY44,800 which is about SGD$580 w GST (using IC's old product price formula) Vios and Altis are still running the old ISO bus standard. The Merc seems to deploy their own proprietary diagnostic system.
Seanboi 1st Gear May 21, 2007 Share May 21, 2007 U mentioned before that the RVIT is only applicable to most Toyota cars using CAN bus, means those using ISO bus cant use it? I m confused because they mentioned it can be used on most japanese cars except Mazda. Btw, wad are the toyota's using CAN bus standard?
Liping24 Neutral Newbie May 22, 2007 Share May 22, 2007 Anyone can explain why my car speedo shows 100km/hr. But the R-vit is only showing 90km/hr. There is such a 10% difference. Is this normal? Which one is 'correct'? Is there a way to test the car speed accurately? Maybe do a test run at some deserted road with a 'speed camera'?? Now....where can one 'borrow' a speed camera to measure the car speed?
Zepil99 Neutral Newbie May 22, 2007 Share May 22, 2007 1. parallex error due to sitting position 2. did u change the tyre profile to the wrong 1? 3. the speedometer probably point above 0 when car is stationary. 4. R-Vit not compatible to your ride?
Chisiang 2nd Gear May 22, 2007 Share May 22, 2007 The R-Vit is backward compatible to normal ISO bus. Mazda cars uses Ford proprietary standard. New cars using CAN bus but no common standard yet. ↡ Advertisement
