chousei, thanks for the info again.

but not CON leh... the rm1k is quoted by the shop that will swap the sports rim for my friend's uncle's 1.8L altis. so, it's the same i'll pay to his uncle lor. that's why my friend asked me wanna makan up instead of passing over to the shop.

but after considering how bad a stock tyres and rims are, i must really consider lor. that is why got 4 factors to compare lor. looks like i'm now 70% not to take up the offer. after 1.5 years, i can consider 15" or 16" JRD (or the likes) rims when i change my tyres.

how that sound?

just notice something else...

toyota.sg:

1.6L altis having 14" rim

1.8L altis having 14" alloy rim

toyota.my:

1.6L altis having 15" alloy rim

1.8L altis having 16" alloy rim

any pros here? wat diff of alloy and non-alloy? weight and price diff?

sorry for asking noob question, but really need advice...

thanks

i traded in my stock rim for $400....top up i think $700 for the Enkei Rims......it should be lesser if you get taiwan rim.. i think taiwan rim is abt 100-120 per piece for 15".

i might consider the enkei rims since it's within budget. but the price is without the rubbers right?

how come the stock rim trade in price is quite high? my friend's m'sia altis 1.8L 16" rims trade in at rm1k only. did you see the pic i posted?

so, now i'm considering to change to that or not? but it'll be rm1k for stock 16" rims, with rubber of course. might even just keep the 16" at home til i wear off the stock tyres in 2 years! if i forgo it all, will just change to taiwan made 15" rims.

wat's your opinion?

the 700 comes with rubber...if you dun mind FC...then gettting a light 16" would be nicer...my Enkei rim is abt 4-5kg each only...you need to know how heavy the altis 1.8 16" rim weight. I am not sure whether is it worth it to get the 1.8 16" at RM1k.....in the first place...do you like the design 1st or not?....have you go to tyre shop to look at their rims yet?...make a look at other design 1st before making the decision. else buy liao regret will be abit late liao.

thanks for the advice bro. will do my homework before committing to any buy.

i guess rm1k is not a good deal at all. but that's the price quoted by the shop who will eat up the rims and tyres.

the design looks ok to me, certainly better than s'pore's 14" rims. but i should take your advice and shop around.

thanks...

go for 16" if you can find affordable and light ones....I so far find the pick up still the same, grip better though.... [nod]

As for trade in, can find about 400 if you drive immediately to the workshop to change. However, taiwan rims are quite nice and light but should not cost more than 150per piece for 16". Then you need to decide on the tyres.....remember, these are the only things keeping you on the road, so better to get something good, rather than you skidding all over the place when very wet weather....personel opinion. may i know the model of this enkei rim?

it seems many chose enkei cps2 15" rim for their altis. is this rim considered as light rim as well?

after much delibration, i've concluded to use the 14" rims until my next tyre change.

during that 1-2 yrs time frame, i'll be sourcing for good 15" rims in m'sia.

while waiting, i might be on a lookout for an upgrade of the ICE system.

stay tune... and thanks to those posted their comments here. [;)]

Hi bros & sis,

Can anyone comments on Taiwan made 16" Kyowa rims? Is it adviseable as thinking of getting these rims as the weight for 16" is around 6kg. Anyone knows the exact weight? (The OZ Superlagger rims at 5.9kg).

How about the quality of these rims...anyone experience cracks or problems?

Thanks
