STP Carb Spray

I think its the combustion of the accumulated carb cleaner in the carb or throttle body. He probable sprayed so much that it flooded the entire chamber. When the engine got started, the heat must have caused all the cleaner to combust, hence resulting in the pop and all the smoke. [sweatdrop] but carb cleaners certainly do restore some power and smoothens the engine [thumbsup]

Dear Concerned,

i have successfully applied the STP Carb spray on my Nissan Dayz and its working perfectly. Carburettor is needed to be cleaned in the following:

1. During Oil Change

2. Every Fortnightly/ Monthly (Depending on the running of the car)

How to Apply:

1. Remove air cleaner system and dislodge the same from carburettor.

2. First clean the carburettor with soft cloth which shall tell you how much Carbon is deposited.

3.Turn Engine off. Let it cool for 10 mins.

4. Apply STP Carb Spray on carburettor and leave it for 1-2 minutes

5. Again apply soft cloth to remove dirt.

6. Turn on Engine.

7. Apply STP Carb Spray on carburettor, in this scenario, the engine will turn off and will take some time to start. But no worries, turn on the engine, give it a constant gas till 1.5-1.8 rpm and continuously spray till the noise of the engine becomes smooth.

In old un-maintained engines it can take a whole can, else 1/3rd of can is sufficient.

The chemical in the spray basically cleans almost all the chokes and clogs.

8. Give it a couple of hard gas push.

9. Pack your Air cleaner system with new air filter and take your car for a drive and feel the smoothness in the drive.

10. Also use STP Fuel injector cleaner (Grey Bottle) with 1/10th of your gas tank and fill the same with Hi-Octane. For 30 Litres tank, add the whole bottle with 3 Litres remaining.

Note:

1. Exhaust will emit black smog in some cars, which shows that the carbon is being cleaned from the system. my car's exhaust emitted the same liquid and black greasy goo after which the mileage and smoothness in drive is evident.

2. Check Motor Oil and spark plugs, use appropriate Motor Oil and spark plugs as per recommendation of your car's manufacturer and add STP oil Treatment, depending on the running of the car.

3. If problem still remains, try changing Oil but first flush your engine removing all clogs and carbon and add fresh oil.

I hope this helps regarding the STP Carb Cleaner. Its really cool!.
