Hi everyone...

 

I'll be getting my first car and currently im deciding btw optra, lancer, sunny and vios.

 

thing is, being a young kid, i would like the car to have some power and of course it should look gd. furthermore, i'll need to travel long distances, frm one end of the country to the other when i start work in may, so definitely having a gd fc would be ideal. and of course, price is a factor since i do not have an income yet so i have chosen these cars which have quite similar prices. would like to have a reliable car as dun think i'll be changin to another one in the near future, but if i do, definitely high resale value is gd rite?

 

had personally gone down to check the various cars and i quite like the optra. rather roomy, which is gd cos im not very small sized, and definitely it looks great, both interior and exterior. had not test driven it but will do so soon.

 

anyway am just thinking, if i compare btw my listed choices, which car would be a gd choice with all my cosiderations in mind? since its the first time im gettin a car, im thinking i shd do a little asking ard first..heh

since u will need to travel long distance daily which will be abt 100 km per day and FC is impt to u...Guess u can forget abt the Optra (A) & Sunny (A) unless u r interested in the manual version. Lancer (A) and VIOS should be able to get u ard 12~14 km/l. U should also consider Jazz or Honda City (iDSI) or (VTEC) version. City might have a wierd looking boot...but it has pretty good consumption. As for Jazz or Fit, getting 15~16 km/l is a norm. Although the initial cost of the Jazz / Fit is much higher than ur 4 choices, the running cost could be much lower.

 

Since u r abt to start work, very impt not to be tied down by the loan repayment as well the running cost (petrol cost). I am staying in the west and if my office is located in the East, I would have bought the Jazz or Civic (M).

You first need to test drive the cars you're targeting at. Those that you don't like, just eliminate them from your list. Even if it gives good FC, would you still buy it if in the first place you don't like it?

 

Then next you consider whether looks, ride comfort&feel, or FC is more important. Very seldom you'll get a car that has the best of all worlds. As for me, looks and ride comfort is very important. That's why my previous ride was the Sunny and my current ride is the Optra, both has FC that is well known to be high, but both rides are comfortable, and the looks, interior and exterior are nice to me!

 

Think Cracker also put it across very well..... there are other models who give much much better FC values.

Of what u mentioned, I think the Vios suites your requirments quite well.
