...YES!... S$700 is worth it if I can get the right one.

I've been reading a bit, and the American 1990-1994 200SX SE-R (think Sunny coupe with 2Ltr engine) has the right match. Hoping to find an importer to source them for me. A NX2000 (NX Coupe with 2ltr engine) would be the same as well. And if I don't mind smaller ones....the original Presea (before 1991) had 4 disc brakes as well.

If yours is a Honda or Nissan, you can probably consider converting to Prelude brakes + rotors + calipers. It'll cost about S$700 - S$1,000 (depending on how much customisation needs to be done).

But you may need 16" rims to fit and a spacer as well...

Give Eddie at Choon's Motor Works a call - 64811606, to see what he can consider...

....although front brakes seem to do most of the braking.... I'm considering practicing some..."handbrake manoeuvres"....and drums are rather poor at that [:/]

Wah, u were alredi practicing the Oversteer technique ah?

I've been practicing since I was driving my parent's automatic cars...many years back.

It's always a rush when my rear wheels step out when I pull the handbrake and do a hard turn........followed by a full throttle prod!

Nowadays....my wife would kill me if I do that [knife][dead][:p]

Thanks for the comments [thumbsup] ... Mmm... still unsure of what would be the best for my car... bigger rotors or rear discs... [:/]

Both bigger rotors in front and dics conversion at the back? [rolleyes] In that way, the brake force distribution can still be kept almost the same as the manufacturer intended.

Guess in this case, my Mintex Silverlines were extremely effective in stopping (especially resisting brake fade, which I suspect the culprit car lacked)...Heh...[dead][dizzy][lipsrsealed] But looking at the bright side, if not, I would have ate up an Audi A4 bumper in turn, for breakfast... [rolleyes]

Sorry to hear abt your accident as I myself was rear-ended just 1 mth ago. [:/]

I don't think brake fade has any play in your situation as it only occurs at high disc temperature conditions due to excessive brake usage. Like going down Genting or driving on the track.

$700 including installation? I think you can get used disc from scrapyard. Then get a workshop to install for you.

I would never consider a used rotor. IMO, these stuffs are too important to go for 2nd hands. Too much is at stake here.

Just my $0.02.
