Mazda And Suzuki are relatives????

I found that in Japan, Mazda sold Suzuki under their brand name... except that the front and rear design is different, just like the old Proton and Mitsubishi. It's only the "kei" or small cars that they are using Suzuki.

You can actually sell the "Lapin", "Alto", "Jimny", "Ignis", "Wagon R+" etc... all has got a Mazda logo.... I thought they tie up only with Ford. I saw Suzuki being badge as a Maruti in India, Chevrolet in Japan, Swift Justy being badge as a Subaru Justy in Portugal or Spain I think, Daewoo badge as a Suzuki in N.America and they work with Daewoo in the past............. What's the relationship between Mazda and Suzuki?

Neutral Newbie

Just in case anyone's interested, since Toyota owns Daihatsu, our Altis Camry is marketed as Daihatsu Altis in JDM.

Cars are localised products. Localised branding, segment, marketing, price and hence production cost and location... [sweatdrop]
