currently i am using autoglym shampoo for my car, i wanna know if wax can help in shine and protection...? can anyone recommend me some brands?

Since you are using Autoglym products, why don't you use Autoglym Wax also? Its called Super Resin Polish. I am using it. Good stuff! But only a little ex. If not can look at Klasse. Got a forumer selling pretty cheap for the whole set!

Very good bro. Easy on, easy off. Good shine and lasting. Even my mobile groomer using Autoglym product.So I follow!

Thought autoglym resin polish will scratch the top coat of your car?

how long you usually take to polish your car?

I seldom polish or wax the whole car myself as I normally engage mobile groomer. If I were to do it myself, the whole washing plus claybar plus surface prep and waxing will take at least 3-4 hours! But the result is !

how to use claybar? i wanted to buy...any recommendation? how frequent do you need to use?

Claybar is like a plasticine which you use to trap contaminants so that the surface will be very smooth. If you find that the surface is no longer smooth, then you can use it. To know about the claybar process, go to this link.

 

If you are not familiar, better get a groomer to help you. Its well worth the money!

Uisng claybar to smoothen the car metal surface i a very tiring an dlong process.

 

I spent 2 hours and the surface is still not 100% smooth - I used a special plastic provided with the claybar to run my fingers thru the paintwork.

Bro, thats why I say leave it to the expert. I have experience before that after I do it myself for about 3-4 hours, it is still not up to the standard of groomers. Sigh....

claying can be DIYed.

 

Its easy..run a search and sure there'l be tips for ya.

 

Summary in the meantime :

 

1.Wash car first

 

2.Use clay on a well lubricated surface i.e. sprayed with QD or with foam on the surface

 

3.Run Clay gently along surfaces in lateral motions, one panel at a time

 

4.Flip clay to other side when "dirty"

 

5. Remold clay to expose new surface when its too dirty and continue

 

6. Rinse all panels properly

 

7. Viola ure done!

There is no claybar groomer bro. The groomer will do everything for you when he come.
