Something strange.....

Oh Boy! Is it quiet in here or did everyone just migrated overseas

 

Anyway, just to get things started again....for those brudders driving the skoda octavia (ambiete,?forgot spelling), did you notice that under the driver seat got some electrical wiring??

Discovered it while vacuuming my car, but just can't seem to figure out what's it for. Anyone got ?

No leh, my seats manual. Seat belt sensor maybe, but shouldn't it be connected to the seat belt buckle??

 

Osim massager how I wish.....Anyway, heard those upmarket cars like BMW, Lexus installing these so call seat in their new cars.

it most prob could be the airbag sensor. Only when there's a occupant on the seat then the airbag will activate. should be...

You probably got the version with the active headrest? In the event of an impact,it's supposed to do some forward/backward motion to prevent whiplash, thereby enhancing the overall safety aspect of the car..

most of the active headrest found in safety cars like Volvo and Saab are mechanically actucated. Don't think there's one that's electronically controlled.

hold on, does whiplash occur when the impact is from the front or behind? coz ive seen those carash test videos that when the car bangs the wall from the front, inertia pulls the body fwd but is held back by the seat belt.

 

true the head snaps fwd but its not as bad as when the head snaps backwards right? so if the impact is from behind, inertia pushes the body fwd and snaps the head back, is that whiplash?

Apparently, whiplash occurs both ways. that's why all skoda cars have a 2 stage airbag(which prevents your face from being smashed by the airbag also, like the jap cars), and of course, the active headrest. but not all the skoda models have the active headrest as a default peripheral for their cars.

seat belt tensioner. it will pull in your seat belt in the event of a collision. works in conjunction with the airbag & disengagement of the pedals. most modern contis will have these in order to get good scores for the Euro NCAP tests.

Me 109s ?? They look more like P51 Mustangs to me !!

dude, check out the long snouts, typical of ME109s, furthurmore the camo scheme on those babys are persistant on those used by the Luftwaffe in that period. brown, grey, black camoflage. allied planes were usually single tones and they would have the american 'star' or for britsih planes, stripes printed at the base of the wings close to the fusalage.

 

also the canopy is rectangular. mustangs have bubble canopies, offering 360 deg of unobstructed view similer to those used on F16s.

 

but the biggest giveaway is the luftwaffe 'cross' at the fuselage just behind the cocpit.

hahaha ... nice to have sparked off discussion of something else!

 

those are indeed P-51B/C Mustangs, escorting C-47 Dakotas into France on D-Day 6-6-1944 ... it's probably too small for most to make accurate assessment of the aircraft type but both of you are quite observant! the giveaway would be the ivasion stripes (alternate black & white) on allied planes for operation overlord, invasion of France.

See ....HangK I was right.....it was small, but what gave it away were the invasion stripes....no offence but I know my Mustangs from ME109s .... Bubble canopies were for the later variants of the Mustangs ...P51D onwards, the earlier variants had wraparounds.....no worries bros, have found some fellow enthusiasts here.......have u guys seen any of these planes in real life ??
