I encounter this weird problem once (lucky only jus 1 time) when i ferry 4 other ppl in my City and was travelling along AYE at normal cruising speed of ard 95kmh on the right lane, out of a sudden, my City could not accelerate beyond 80kmh no matter how much I step on my accelerator, still it can't push up to 90kmh and above. All the passengers in my City felt that something was wrong somewhere in my car. I was abit panic and quickly push the manual gear and drop to 4th or 3rd gear before i manage to push it up to 90kmh on the 7th gear.

Have anybody here ever had such bad experience before? Or is there something wrong somewhere that could cause this? But after this incident, I never encounter this problem again. [hur]

maybe the car's simply overloaded.

i once fetched 5 people on my ride,

the car was struggling at ~60km/h on CTE

meet a slight upslope and massive slowdowntongue.gif

I don't think it has got to do with overloading...I once ferried 5 in my car and still can hit 100(M'sia that is). Maybe you have engaged 7 speed mode but did not press the plus minus button...this will tend to drag the car, as it awaits command from you to select gear...

IMO, it is the ECU or CVT box. Send to Kah Motor for dignositic test...maybe your city, during the production process has poor quality control but this is the exception than the norm...so far you are the 1st city that I have come across to encounter such problem...

Yo bro,

I agree with David3305... presumably it's the ECU programming fault.

As with computers, sometimes you need to 'reboot' to correct the glitch

Anyway, do send back to KM for a diagnostic check and update us soon.

I had it the ECU check on my 30K servicing and all they could conclude was that they reset the ECU and that all.

After reset, so far so good. I'm happy with the Mobile 1 Engine oil that is bought from Giant ($9.90 per bottle). But KM gave me a stunning shock on the Labour. 30k servicing $40, follow by don't know what servicing $35 and Labour $15 Total: $90 (excl. Spark Plugs, washer $ nuts). Might not be going back for further servicing after 3 yrs.

actually you just have to disconnect the battery, wait awhile and connect it back. that will reset ur ECU.

But I always wonder why we need to reset the ECU. Is it a necessity?

Anyway, for the 30k svc, I also pay close to $100 and this is excluding I brought my own oil and oil filter. The SA told me 40k is worst and have to leave the car there 1 whole day. The labour charge will be around $300/-, as they need to change the fuel filter which is located inside the engine block, also have to change the ATF oil...
