Dear All,

Have just seen 35 units of the new optra discharged from vessel into the port today. Its a complete face lift. The front grille had been converted to those of optra5 and they have included the remote control on the steering wheel which, was earlier only found in the 1.8 l car. I felt so cheated when i refered to the brochure they gave and realised no remote on the steering when i collected my car.

Checked with my sales executive, price now is $58988 for auto. The new face lift is expected to be $2k more than the current price. Comparing to the time i bought amlost the same @ $61k. Guess if you can wait.......y not wait for a while. Just for info . Have not been launch yet.

No wonder i have not seen starsauto importing new stocks for the past 1-1.5 mth. They're trying to get rid of te current stock before bringing in the new face lift. If you can imagine, its the type you find on the cover page of your manual, showing the wagon verson.

Hopefully they do not have the same fuel gauge , stalling, ....prob

Are you talking about this grille ? It is actually found in Optra being sold in other countries eg. canada.

Think the remote is for radio. Take a look at those of Mazda 3 and you know i meant. Yo're right, the facelift is the same as what canada has. Excpet it came slightly later than its predecessor mimicking the korean daewoo.

I think the new face lift look awful. It makes it look very KIA like with the chrome piece at the bonnet. I still prefer the old grille, it looks more stylish, albeit it reminds you of Daewoo.

yalor, the current grille looks smarter.

the new grille is too simple. maybe GM wants to standardise the production of parts to cut cost [smash]

The current front grille has that SAAB, BMW, continental look.

The facelift may be cost-effective to produce.

Chanced upon this thread. just for info.

You want a makeover to the new facelift optra, front bumper and bonnet

need to be changed too.

this could set you back approximately $1000 in Singapore.
