Advice on installing 2nd amp or active woofer

Hi Folks,

Thinking of bridging my 4 channel to 2 for my front. That means I need an active woofer or another amp. Can I just get the cables and splitters and tap the power/ground/on-off signal from the current points connected to the existing amp (4 channel Alpine V12) ? Anything I need to watch out for ?

Thanks.

Hi

1) You need to make sure your power cable is thick enough for the 2 amps.

2) you will very likely need to change your existing fuse which is near the battery. (change to Higher fuse rating)

Typically, you run the power cable with a dedicate main fuse not more that 1 ft from the battery and the power cable can run all the way to your trunk. And the trunk will need another distrubuter block with fuses.. You will than split from there with their individual fuse.... and than to the power terminal of the individual amps.

If you wanna diy.. go to this website.... they will teach you to calculate power cable guages

Go to the section on wires

Hope these helps.
