Nine_eleven 2nd Gear May 20, 2005 Share May 20, 2005 (edited) most motor insurers will have STAR as one of the authorired repairers. go only to Portsdown Rd for repairs. they will use only new parts. if u do 3rd party claims, u dun need to fork out cash upfront for your own repairs... the repair quality is good, paints they use are Dupont, and they'll offer a 6mth STAR warranty on repairs... plus STAR membership and small benefits... speaking from experience. I did my third party claim at the STAR workshop at Portdown Road, not satistifed with their workmanshop. When I received my car, one of the reverse light was not working, sent to the workshop to fix again, was told that the bulb was blown(poor QC, I thought they are suppose to check everything is ok before handing over the car). After when I reach home, I found the my rim which was scratch during the accident, wasn't patch properly, can see the bare paint, had to go down again, waste half a day. They paint one dat of sliver paint to cover the bare paint, which I think it not very professional, I could have done it myself. I had regretted that I had not go to CAS as my friend had advised. They even polished his car after they repair it.

I didn't get any free star membership when I sent my car for 3 party claim repair recently. Edited May 25, 2005 by Antsig30

Vit4wd 1st Gear May 27, 2005 Share May 27, 2005 Yah! CAS service quite good. They were the only ones who returned my call on my rare 195/80R15 tyres that I enquired about. ↡ Advertisement
