Lionheart7004 Neutral Newbie June 15, 2005 Share June 15, 2005 As a gadget man, can start to pick it up now. BTW, putting the cap at the trunk is okay, so no need to shift. However, i would like what type of cable to use for the trunking between Bat & Cap? Thick power cable. ↡ Advertisement

York Clutched June 15, 2005 Share June 15, 2005 ventilation fan blowing on the device inside the trunk...dun think it'll be effective...as it'll ciculation the hot air... maybe cut a hole, install a vent fan to draw out the hot-air will be more effective. Johnchong Neutral Newbie June 16, 2005 Share June 16, 2005 Actually does a capacitor really work? Is it necessary?
Gadgeter 2nd Gear June 16, 2005 Author Share June 16, 2005 some says yes, some says no... i went ahead and fixed it... my voltage are more stable.
Johnchong Neutral Newbie June 17, 2005 Share June 17, 2005 Voltage is theoretical lah, but do you hear any difference? I was told that the capacitor "robs" the amplifier of power. Is that true?
Gadgeter 2nd Gear June 17, 2005 Author Share June 17, 2005 I'm more concern about my voltage dropping. With the additional cap, am not seeing such things..

For me, I changed to a higher capacity alternator + bigger battery to cope wif the current demand... Edited June 17, 2005 by York
Gadgeter 2nd Gear June 17, 2005 Author Share June 17, 2005 I might be looking at another bigger alternator.. But then again, am only driving my car for another 1 year 9 months...
Johnchong Neutral Newbie June 17, 2005 Share June 17, 2005 Erm ya, I know. What I meant was "so what if voltage drops"? Does it harm the car? Does engine become v rough? ↡ Advertisement
