Congrates on your Superb... Anyway, Superb is base on VW Passat design or background... So don't have this problem bro... Furthermore, the fuse is in the box holder/cover on far left side of the engine bay... It's in the ECU compartment...

Hello,

My parents have bought the Superb to replace the S40. Our Volvo ownership is [thumbsdown] . (You can read my posts in the other parts of the forum).

Delivery ~ early July. Have not decided on the colour yet because we want to look at the actual colour (not those from the colour chart).

Ours will be either mystery blue or sahara beige. From what I heard from my SE, there is another Superb owner driving a mystery blue Superb - the one and only colour in the first shipment.

Hi,

Sorry for the late reply, only managed to do the change yesterday. And thanks for the pictures of fuses and prompt reply.

Understand that a relay helps to switch the fan and off depending on needs, hence, I concluded it is the relay and not fuse. Managed to resolve the issue of the fan relay, there is a loose connection in the socket (see attached) due to a crack in the plastic connector, which I have fixed back with added reinforcement(tie-wrap). I have also managed to de-carbonise the fan with contact cleaners to remove carbon. FYI.

Bro, I've driven both the Classic and the Ambiente.

Octy has inherent problems with the fan. From what I read in yr posts and my experience, I say your fan is busted.

Even though the fan is running, it does not mean that it is working properly. If you lok closer you will find that the fan is running about half speed. No power at all as compared to the smaller fan. The relay is not the problem. It is the fan.

The fan is cheap. You can get it from Xinzhong ~$130. DIY and you save tonnes. if I'm not mistaken, you should hear a faint whining from your aircon system or during hot days stuck in a jam.

So go and confirm that your fan is not 100% blowing and just change your fan. I've been there and done that.

Need any other tips on DIY Octy, just holler. [thumbsup]

Its a good car for a DIY handy person. Too bad my juices not enough for a Superb. [bigcry] [bigcry] [bigcry][bigcry]

Absolutely, it is a great DIY car.

Thanks. Am quite sure it is not carbonising of the fan but the relay is busted. Any idea how much is the relay.
