Other than being overpriced, Michelin tyres are stil one of the best around.

 

My last Michelin MXV3A Pilot lasted me 6 years. Had it not been for the rubber compound hardening, I would still be using it.

 

Superb handl;ing in the wet and very quiet ride.

 

Yuo can drive over a puddle of water and you won't feel your steering wheel shifting to 1 side.

Yeap. Honestly I put the blame squarely on Michelin. How to go to "war" if you never check out the terrain. Its like footballers missing a penalty and blaming the turf or the studs on their shoes.

Their street tyres are pretty decent. But I prefer Goodyear

6 years? Terror. You got guts to continue using them.

I change out every year regardless of thread wear.

Depending on your mileage. If you travel 50,000km a year, of course it makes sense.

 

Otherwise. it is over doing it.

 

For me, I drive within the limits, with little or no over enthusiastic driving, so I am comfortable with my 6 yr old tyres.

 

It also depends on eth brand. If it is some cheap Hankook brand, then I'd change my tyres more often.

 

Mine was the upper end Michelin, so I felt safe and the tyre did its job well.

My average mileage is 25,000 km per year. Change them every year because I KS . Several of my friends do the same and one of them has reasoned it out as buying christmas present (new shoes) for his car every year.
