Slowdive Neutral Newbie June 25, 2005 Share June 25, 2005 Hi, Does anyone here has any problem with the above said sensor before? Mine's a 2001 Skoda Fabia 1.4. Damn sensor keep beeping everytime , engine oil level's ok, should be sensor issue. Anyway, I asked for parts from Servotronics since February or March, no updates till now. I'm thinking of going Eurohaus or AutoSpritze to fix it soon. Any leads if I want to get the sensor myself and bring it to the workshop? Xinzhong, United Motors etc ?? Fortress Clutched June 28, 2005 Share June 28, 2005 Hi, Had my oil sensor went the same way you did on another car, it is nothing serious if you are aware of the level, but it is irritating. In my case,it is a simple screw-on sensor, somehow the plastic caused the contacts to short the circuit. Have a look at yours, use a plier to split the wire connecting it to prevent it from shorting. Skodarr Neutral Newbie June 28, 2005 Share June 28, 2005 Yes, you are right... But have no idea if Octavia and Fabia sharing similar Engine Oil Sensors...

Zrun Neutral Newbie June 28, 2005 Share June 28, 2005 get it fixed under warranty? This kind of failure is just indicating that the car is not very reliable. OEM sensors can be expensive.
Fortress Clutched June 29, 2005 Share June 29, 2005 You are right. However, it is quite common to have failure of sure, in any cars at 4 to 6 years...(of course Japanese scrap their cars at 3 years and continental design to last longer with maintenance). It is unfortunate in Singapore that WE are very pampered and not very handy. It takes less than 10 mins to do sure things. Sigh... Ivan
Fortress Clutched June 29, 2005 Share June 29, 2005 Possibly not. But Skoda will be silly if they design it differently, it cost more to do otherwise. An oil sensor is a simple open circiut sensor, then oil is lower than the sensor, the signal is on.
C708 Neutral Newbie June 29, 2005 Share June 29, 2005 A, Apparaently this is a common problem with the 1.4 8v block produced during 01, did some research on Briskoda & found that once changed, the new sensor would work fine and not cause problems again.
