Lightspeed Clutched June 26, 2005 Share June 26, 2005 If you ask me... I think the marketing is My opinion is that they should make known to others the roots of the car... what engine/chassis the car's using... All that stuff about looking beyond the brand name of the car... crappy to me... Yup... We know about brand snobbery... but do we have to degrade it? Vit4wd 1st Gear June 27, 2005 Share June 27, 2005 That certainly is out-of-this-world prices (applies to Singapore context only). Same price as Punto. Makes Fiat cars overpriced.

Virus 2nd Gear June 28, 2005 Share June 28, 2005 [reply] This is the actual Octavia Tour in flesh The door mould strips are missing. $67,777 is for the Octavia Tour 1.6M So that's how they cut price, missing items here and there. Looks like a classic model to me, should check out the engine is it 1.6 vento?
Koolaba 1st Gear June 28, 2005 Share June 28, 2005 If you are really firm on signing on the dotted line, there should be no problems getting the side moulding FOC. It is pasted onto the doors. In Europe, the Classic trim has only 2 power windows in the front. This one has 4 power windows. SE confirms that the engine is the Bora engine. Fortress Clutched June 28, 2005 Share June 28, 2005 Hi, My classic has no side trimming. how much does it cost to get, any idea. The car looks like a Classic, only can tell from the engine, especially the exhaust pipe. Ivan

Koolaba 1st Gear June 28, 2005 Share June 28, 2005 According to the SE, it is still the 8V engine. The Fabia has the 16V version.
Lightspeed Clutched June 28, 2005 Share June 28, 2005 No. Driving a Classic at the moment and am happy with it. just curious about the side triming and the cost of it. I enquired about the rear bumper black strip (trimming as you call it) That costs about 100++ from CA... I scraped mine big time at the side... So I guess the sides would be around the same price ... Planning on getting the spray shops to sand it down and apply putty and colour code them...
Fortress Clutched June 28, 2005 Share June 28, 2005 (edited) Hi, Thanks. Saw it selling by someone on the classified here for S$80.Alamak should have gotten it. That means you have to do both sides of the car. Remember a Shell Pro Serv guy(The Shell employee collided into the back of mine car) did it and he has managed to re-condition the trimming back with painting it. His name is Chou and he has retired, but the shop is at Hougang (opp Kovan MRT), wonder the guys there can still do it. And it is cheap.
