Normal_aspirated Clutched June 29, 2005 Share June 29, 2005 (edited) See my Melaka page in VT for a Fiat 500 picture. Saw it parked outside Geographer Cafe/Bar and had to take picture of this old car. I think the pix was lost during the MCF server migration......check out: http://www.mycarforum.com/forum/gforum.cgi...t%20500;#484512 Juz added attached pix of it...... Fiat124sport Neutral Newbie June 29, 2005 Share June 29, 2005 The Aveo can't be very old, care to share why you changed? About 1 year 2 months to be exact. Few parts of the car(Aveo) are over-engineered, but most importantly, plenty of parts in the car are under-engineered. It's obvious that the mechanical bits of the car was put together using leftovers from GM's parts bin. I do not mean to trash the car. Honestly, if you need to get from A to B, the Aveo is an ok car. I got the Aveo only because I couldn't find a suitable continental alternative, and my COE was almost up. My previous ride was a Punto Mk1. Shortlisted cars then were: 206, Fiesta, Clio and Corsa.(As you can see, I am a hatch fan ) Sadly, none of the above cars were able to make me part with my $$$. So, between the devil and the deep blue sea, the option was to keep the old Punto or get an Aveo(yes, I know it's not a true blue conti)....I chose the latter, wanting to give the rebadged daewoos a try. Wrong move. After sales for the Aveo has been a nightmare for me.......Ok, I won't trash the local agent here.....But they had better pull up their socks and get their act together. Modern car owners are tech savvy people, there is no way of pulling fast ones on them any longer. To sum it all up, the Aveo was a make-do car......and it was a very very pleasant surprise that Fiat has returned to Singapore - hopefully for good. My heart has always been with the Italians.......this Punto is probably the 5th or 6th Fiat in my family, since the days of the 500.....124.....132....blah blah blah... Anyways....Kudos to Brandon and the team at TTS Eurocars. Very professional. Keep up the good work. Cheers!

Fiat124sport Neutral Newbie June 29, 2005 Share June 29, 2005 Looking at the Aveo and Punto side-by-side, the looks for both are Italian as the Aveo is penned by Italians and the Punto purely Italian. The Aveo is a little chubbier. Only difference is what's inside. Yeah.....and my wish for the Aveo is that someday, it'll grow up to be a true-blue american-engineered Chevy. Foursprings Neutral Newbie June 29, 2005 Share June 29, 2005 Hi and Congrats!!! Fiat cars are great to drive and the Punto's interior is really nice. This Italian flair is hard to describe. Ignore all the talk you'll get about breakdowns or about no resale value. The engine and build is now very reliable, just like Alfas. you won't get a chance to say "Fix It Again Tom!" Of course, these cars require a bit more pampering (timely servicing and oil top ups are a must!) You'll enjoy driving the car so much won't even think about selling it. Before you know it, it's break even time!
