Cantona156 Clutched July 4, 2005 Share July 4, 2005 (edited) Cam shaft, as long as you buy from reputable you are safe. Maybe not too fierce duration, cos the car may not idle too well. As for port & polish, it is to reduce the air intake flow friction losses (smoothen the flow and increase the flow vol). So if it is not done properly, it may be even detrimental. Zero Neutral Newbie July 4, 2005 Author Share July 4, 2005 hm... any idea what the price to do that?
Cantona156 Clutched July 4, 2005 Share July 4, 2005 You what car? My old Alfa cams from C&B cost me almost S$1k couple years back. Installation was couple hundreds ......Crosby Motorsport. The piggy ECU cost S$600. Dyno tuning couple hundred again. As for port and polish, I believe the same shop does the same. But mileage differs from car to car. Don't have too much expectations. You may be better off installing a LP Turbo.
Zero Neutral Newbie July 4, 2005 Author Share July 4, 2005 hmm... im driving a wira. my mech is actually doing for me my port & polish and modified camshaft for $850. As for ECU, will be changing from semiens ecu to mmc one after the above is done. LP turbo is nice but i stil prefer to play with NA. Perhaps maybe after few yrs later then swap a vr4 engine in. Nightchaser Neutral Newbie July 5, 2005 Share July 5, 2005 I drove my mech's wira with vr4 single turbo... it was fast man... but problem is that you cannot corner with confidence. The bloody car like on steroids....
Zero Neutral Newbie July 5, 2005 Author Share July 5, 2005 yeah... vr4 with turbo is damn fast... have even tried a vr4 with twin turbo and 8 Fuel Injection... really The prob is because of light chasis. If i were to put in a vr4, i dun think i will be going to turbo it becos i prefer NA

Turbonetics 2nd Gear July 5, 2005 Share July 5, 2005 there r suppose to hav diff stage of camshaft... if the lift of the cam is too high,u need to change those valve, valvespring n retainers...for a single cam engine(1 cam) plus PnP plus those valve spring... shd be abt $1600-$1800 n cost more for twin cam(2cams)...
