Whew...fortunately it was not me...hehe...he is 1 of the staff in my company and I don't really know him. His 2nd exhaust is just for show only (fake one). The car is on 18" rim with body lower to 3 fingers or less. The entire body kit came from Czech Auto in original. That piece was a display and demo car actually.

 

BTW, he has not rechip his car yet. [sly]

Had spoken to ppl at Skoda or think i can say Crezh Auto, The Octys (Tour) is brought in to let ppl buy for pricing issue, it is acutally a older model compare to the last batch of the skoda Octy. The new model of Octy cost est $100K Plus due to euro dollars. So it is really not advise to buy it!!! No choice, Current car market look more into price and not wat it have!!!

 

But the way the Rs look a bit funny at the front, esp the Grill and the head lamp!!!

But hope the perform is good(That why i like skoda)

It's hard to believe that Czech Auto will only sell the Octavia II at high prices far in excess of S$80,000. In Europe, Skoda's proposition entails offering more car for less money. Hence, even the Octavia II is cheaper than a Focus or a Megane of comparable spec.

A very good point you've brought up.

 

We don't understand. Neither would they say a word.

 

While other brands are shipping out new models with thrills and frills, we have CA who are still selling outdated models [shakehead]

 

They have on hand a very good car with lots of good reviews and I'm sure the new Octy would win so many buyers over from other makes.

 

Are they too afraid to fail?

 

If like what someone mentioned... that the Euros are too high to bring in the Octy2

 

VW Golf V 1.6L FSi going for SGD100k and Octy2 for the same price...

 

I would like to think the Octy2 would outsell the Golf.

Someone in Czech Auto may have screwed up somewhere by taking up a large order of the older Octavia Tour. Perhaps the dollar signs on their eyes (no doubt motivated by the prospect of fatter profit margins) had blinded them from making the RIGHT business decisions.

 

Now that they're stuck with all that old stock, they're trying to hoodwink us with claims that the Octavia II will be way too expensive. Bollocks! In Europe, fully kitted Octy IIs are even cheaper than Meganes of similar spec. We ain't that ignorant, especially since information is so easily available from the Internet or from UK's auto publications that are sold locally.

 

If the Octy II were to hit our shores and is priced correctly (i.e. as a value proposition that's cheaper than the Focus and the Megane, like how it's currently pitched in Europe), the cars WILL sell like hotcakes. Singaporeans may be brand conscious, but we also know a good bargain when we see one.

 

If CA's current stock of Octy Tours are not cleared up soon, their opportunity costs will be very, very high. After all, a lot of capital is tied up in their car yard, and this is money that can be put to better use.

They brought in 200 tours... I wonder just how many have been sold so far... They shouldn't have brought in so many in the first place...

 

Wonder if they've tried selling them to rental companies.... or like the previous dealer... start their own rental company [laugh]

Since CA is in the car business, they ought to know that unsold cars do "depreciate" in value over time; i.e. the introduction of newer models from competitors will eventually force the prices of older models downwards, thus eating into profit margins.

 

I'm surprised our local Skoda enthusiasts haven't submitted their formal complains to VAG over CA's ineptitude.

 

The situation will be very, very interesting if (can't really use the term "when") the Octy II belatedly arrives in SG, only to be priced above the Alfa 147's S$80K price tag, as CA has led us to believe. Will they follow up on an earlier mistake with another mistake? Only time will time, perhaps at the end of 2006.

By the time the OctyII arrives (if it ever makes it here anyway), most people would have bought their Alfas, Meganes, C4s, Focus, Astras, etc.

 

They can really forget about any sales if they still drag on.... [thumbsdown]
