In search of food, a group of 14 elephants wandered into a village in Yunan, China. Accidentally drinking 30kg of corn wine, they dozed off soundly shortly after their little ‘party’. The image of the drunk elephants scrunched up in comfy positions went viral on Facebook, garnering much oohs and awws from netizens. ‘Invaded’ the village for food According to Epicalyptic’s Facebook post, the famished squad stumbled upon corn wine while searching for food in the Yunan village. Without knowing, the curious elephants ingested 30kg of the alcoholic beverage. While one might think that these majestic creatures have an unimaginable tolerance for alcohol, that myth seems to have been debunked.
