Channel News Asia COE bid deposits reinstated to $10,000 By Mustafa Shafawi | Posted: 01 September 2010 0927 hrs SINGAPORE: The Land Transport Authority (LTA) said COE bid deposits for all categories of vehicles except motorcycles will be reinstated to $10,000 per bid from October's bidding exercise. It said this is to deter frivolous or speculative bids which deny genuine bidders from getting a COE. The bid deposit was halved in August last year for one year as a temporary relief measure to help businesses and prospective vehicle owners during the economic downturn. The bid deposit for motorcycle COEs remains at $200.

For now, which deposit/unit trust is more suitable... thinking of fixed deposit, but the interest is quite low... what about structured deposit or bond? need advise... thanks...

The interest rates for deposits in foreign currencies are quite attractive. NZD ard 7%, USD ard 3%. Is it worth it? Any risks that I have to look out for?
