Supercar maker, Ferrari, has lifted the cover off the successor to its 599 GTB Fiorano. Called the F12berlinetta, the latest Ferrari is meant to be a direct competitor to the Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4. Measuring 4,618mm long, 1,942mm wide and 1,273mm tall, the new flagship Ferrari is 47mm shorter, 19mm narrower and 63mm lower than the model it replaces. Powered by a 6.3L naturally-aspirated V12 engine, the F12berlinetta produces 730 bhp, making it the most powerful regular production Ferrari in history. It generates a peak torque of 690Nm, of which 80% is available at just 2500rpm. The power is transmitted to the rear wheel via a dual-clutch transmission. With such impressive credentials, the F12berlinetta sprints from 0 to 100km/h in a mere 3.1 seconds before hitting a top speed of over 340km/h. In comparison, the 700 bhp, 6.5L V12 Aventador is 0.2 seconds faster in the century sprint category. Despite producing more stallions than its predecessor, Ferrari claims that the F12berlinetta is 30 percent more fuel efficient and produces 350g/km of CO2 as compared to the 599
