  1. DRIFTING http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p6rsa7v_sss...feature=related RACING CARS For home-made track, the cars' speeds got to be set lower coz the track is much shorter/narrower. You see, i am a fan of remote control racing on and off in the past.... tried different 'cars' and engines (gas/electric). Most of my 'cars' COE expired liao... but unlike real cars, new ones are still affordable (especially the MiniZs i am eyeing now). This type is small but realistic (controls/steering and even bodyshapes.... its 1:27 scale, palm size, but the body details are almost as good as the die-cast display type) The shops have their indoor tracks, about $5 you can race the whole day!! But i have this sudden urge to build a 'portable/foldable' track at home and use a design i like (mimicking our F1 street circuit or Sepang etc). My living+dining space is not very big, but good enough if i put a few tables/seats i have to the side and may even run the track over them.... Spent today's morning using masking tapes to mark out the layout, so far so good. But I am not sure what type of carpet or textured/friction paint to use on the track made of plywood boards modules?? Any bros have some suggestions on the whole project, especially the choice of carpet / paints to give the tyres max grips? I know this is quite a niche project, but it will be my Xmas/NY project (i will pass the bills to my wife, she no need to buy me present, just pay) btw, I am eyeing a Lambor or Ferrari as my race car..... will go 'showroom' soon. thank you in advance... (i m also checking with MiniZ forums)
  2. Either this branded car is really worth the premium price for it's sturdiness or the aluminium-like railings were too flimsy ... Then again these latest type of road-divider railings might not have been designed to withstand vehicular impact in the first place, unlike first generation mild steel types that were more strong. Notice the windscreen was still intact despite the scattered damaged railings lying all over... http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/stomp/sg...4/accident.html An accident involving two cars along Balestier Road yesterday morning (Oct 8) resulted in extensive damage. STOMPer Hawkeye cautions all motorists to "drive with care". At about 5.30 AM, a Mercedes Benz ploughed through the centre divider in front of Shaw Plaza, knocking over a lamp post in the process, and ended up on the other side of the road. Another car then hit the stray lamp post, and landed on top of it. All three lanes outside Shaw Plaza were blocked off for one and half hours as a result. Hawkeye gives us a detailed description of the accident:
  3. Hello, I'm currently considering buying a car(My First Car), and need some help. I'm thinking about Honda Jazz/Fit but I am not too sure about its 1339cc engine. Does anyone know how much does the PI for the 1.5 Fit cost? Also, with the 1.5 Fit, is there any substantial increase in its fuel consumption? For this range of price, anyone has any other recommendations on other cars? I am in my 20s and my budget is for a S$75,000 car(aprox.) My main considerations are FC and looks.(Was ACTUALLY considering City, but didn't work out. The price simply does not make-up for the looks, or rather the lack of it.) I am contemplating about using the car for the full period of 10yrs(Thus, the importance in FC and looks?), hope I can resist the urge to change. Haha. Any comments would be greatly appreciated! Thank You in advance! Cheers!
