ic how abt rainbow hotel? and TS hotel?

rainbow is old, small and expensive. TV programmes are lousy. noisy at night too. sometimes, the people who hang out there create a racket.

try royal castle...just 200+m away. cheaper and better customer service.

The Shilin Night Market is a night market in the Shilin District of Taipei City, Republic of China (Taiwan). It is the largest and most famous night market in the city. To get there by the MRT, you must take the Danshui Line to the Jiantan Station, not the Shilin Station.

The Best places for Shopping and eating near a MRT stop:

1-Ximen MRT - Ximenting Pedestrain Area: Shopping and food all around. (After 11am but evenings better atmosphere and Sat + Sun after 1pm Movie & Pop stars come here to promote new albums and sign autographs)

2-Jiantan MRT - Shihlin Nightmarket - A really happening place.(Best time to visit is after 6pm daily)

3)Zhongxiao Fuxing~Zhonghua Dunhua MRT - connected to each other by the East Metro Mall (Underground) Shops for clothes , shoes and food area After 11am)

Outside is the Dinghow shopping area with shopping centers, restaurants e.t.c.

4) Gongguan MRT: After 11am Shopping and food (Exit 4) Youthful stuff as well as this is the stomping ground of the NTU students.

If you prefer a big shopping mall, try sogo (Dunha MRT).

At the chong Xiao Fuxing MRT station (muzha line) you can find two department shops, Sogo and the breeze center(further ahead). Then between the two, there is the Da An road famous for being a semi night market.

Try Tsamshui, it's near the lake. And there are many local delights to be found over there. Not to mention shopping.

Another place would be Chunghsiao East Rd, it's basically a shopping district and there are many restaurants around there too.
