The new engine will be most likely a production version of the supercharged 3.0 litre V6 which was featured in the C-X16 Concept (second picture from top). That particular engine delivered 375bhp and 450Nm of torque. This enables the car to complete the century sprint in 4.4 seconds.
Adrian Hallmark, Jaguar’s Global Brand Director, said that the C-X16’s development was a vivid representation of the confidence and ambition of the company,; and the desire amongst their engineers and design team to produce a world-leader in a market segment that the company have been absent from for too long.
Jaguar recently launched a marketing campaign, named Alive, which is tasked to create a stir among the public about the company’s badging and line-up. The F-Type will be the centrepiece of this campaign and efforts to promote the car will increase in the coming months. The company added that it is no secret that the United States will be the F-Type’s primary target since it is has the largest sports car market in the world.
