Sorry arh, a noob question indeed.

Have received the brochure for the new OPC scheme but is still not sure what the $100 registration

fee for? Why is there a need to register if you can just log in to the internet to purchase the E-license?

Sang nao jin orhh [sweatdrop]

Any brudder can explain? Thank you. [thumbsup]

the $100 registration fee is to change to the new opc scheme whereby the road tax is lower and can drive full-day on Sat/Eve of Major Pubilc holidays etc...

the e-license is available to both the current and new opc schemes (nothing to do with the $100 fee)~

$100 is used to convert to full day Saturday driving... but of course, if you think $100 is too much, then still can stay with 0700 - 1900 Weekday, 0700 - 1500 Saturday. Its a matter of choice...

i think the questions is "What additional administration would there be for us to drive on saturday whole day and what is the breakdown of the $100 eg install cameras on lampposts or configure the erp gantries to catch defaulters???

pay the civil servants who will be doing all the paperwork and admin lor. Someone has to call TP and lta officers to inform them of the changes! That cost loads of money and effort. [lipsrsealed]

Not sure of the answer, but LTA will gladly tell you... if you not happy to pay $100, then stick to the old timing lo... [flowerface]

haha yes thats very true but i think paying 100 1 time outweighs the $20 coupons we have to buy when we need to drive on sat

$100 -> Think of it as 10x $10 (Half-day Saturday) coupons... more pros than cons... [thumbsup]

you'll have to also factor in the increased road tax as well when you switch. still, it is worth it if you're driving a small cc car.
