to be honest, i think first half liverpool played much better than arsenal

liverpool front 3 together with the midfield was more cohesive while arsenal wing fowards were mostly isolated as they are spread too wide...

podolski goal was the only time when they are closer to each other....

however in the 2nd half.... the reversed happened... <_<

One negative i saw in the match was Giroud...

he doesnt seem to have the understanding with them yet...

and he missed another good chance...

Congrats Gunners, they took their chances well...

Anyway dont be hard on Giroud, his movements and running were exceptional, created alot of probs for the the two pool center backs...

Giroud movement was pretty good actually.

although many have pointed he has been less clinical than he should have,

it was not as easy as it appeared.

this thing will have to come naturally.

Now that he's sooo v close to scoring, i hope it will be an explosion from him in few matches to come.

Yes, he seems diff from last few strikers in AFC, e.g bendtner, chamakh,

He reads the game well, his movements and sense of positioning looks good, blessed with gd speed as well.

Lets see how he progress, the great Henry took 8 league game to open his account. [rolleyes]

very obvious LFC outplayed AFC in 1st half, but failed to score.

AFC on the other hand managed to steal the chance and convert..

2nd half this Raheem Sterling look v dangerous on several occasion although Jenk & Per subdued him eventually.

The lack of LFC having plan B in Carroll cost BR the match perhaps.

He confirmed it during after match press conf that he wouldn't let Carroll go if he knew LFC weren't getting replacement striker..

I know it's always easy to analyze after the match compare to standing there as minutes pass by.

I also got the feeling that Webb been extra cautious in awarding pen, though imho Suarez at times fell down too cheaply.

anyway, we will be having hard matches coming up in Sept:

- Soton

- MCFC

- CFC

the next 3 games will be severe test for our defence.... if we pass through with flying colours.... i think we can start to dream.....

Podolski interview

"This style of Arsenal is my style. I like this. We are a team that likes to pass the ball, playing one or two touches. But to win in the Premier League you must also be prepared to fight and to run. We did this well.

"I have been asked to play on the left, but you can see that I am free to leave that position and play inside. I don't just have to play wide, I can go in the middle to link up with Abou or Santi. With Santi, in training, I've loved the way it has gone. All the time we work on this, one and two touches.

i like this part. He and ox was running up and down the flanks like there is no tomorrow

Podo also said that among 10 odd manager he's been with, AW is one of the best in the world.

Yet many fans wish the club to sack him.

Failing to realize if weren't for him waving his magic between useless board of directors and unsettled players,

the season's result would probably end up worse.

Nothing wrong wanting trophies, who wouldn't? Players and manager would want it much much more than the fans because they are

the ones in the real action.

We can criticize all we want, disappointed etc but lest we forget not is to give credit when it's due.

The spending, the losses of players, injury woes, compare those to other clubs' and yet still deliver;

well that should count for something.

Change the manager, give him the exact circumstances and i bet he'll last less than half a season.

to be honest, we have already been pampered by his success went he first came... with the peak being the invincibles season.... from there it goes downhill....and still many fans are not calling for his head yet.. In Arsene we trust!!

actually i see more fans disgruntled with the board rather than AW.... they keep saying we have a 40m warchest but every season our transfer dealings shows a net profit on transfer

i as a fan actually want to know only 1 thing.. is the 40m warchest true? if it is... then AW should bear part of the blame when we are short of depth, if we buy 3 players and 1 comes good.. this player could be the difference between 1 points and 3 points... however if the 40m warchest is false, then i say he has done a very terrific job....

i had a thought for this year transfer window.....

everyone is complaining we did not buy players to replace song and RVP..... me included

but i think a lot of people will be very happy if we had sold RVP and Song first.. than buy santi, giroud and podolski [laugh]

Goalscorer Santi Cazorla stars alongside Thomas Vermaelen, Mikel Arteta and Abou Diaby in our side, although striker Lukas Podolski just misses out despite opening the scoring in the 2-0 victory.

4 arsenal players feature in the Team of the week for goal.com
