The good die young: BMW 1 Series M Coupe set for an early demise

So what does the 'M' in a BMW stand for? Marketing. Yes, marketing and not motorsport. The reason is that BMW has stated in a recent report by TheDetroitBureau.com that the BMW 1 series M coupe will only have a one year run. One measly year? One year for a car that enthusiasts deem to be the spiritual replacement to the BMW E30 M3. And it was only launched and previewed in Singapore at the end of January.   Of course BMW said that they will only make 2,500units of the car and we all know a ma

Exclusive Rolls Royce for sale

If you have enough money to splash, you could pretty much enter any exotic car headquarters and ask for a completely custom car to be built specifically to your liking. Back in 2008, British collector Roland Hall commissioned a custom Rolls Royce, and the company created a one-off Rolls Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe dubbed the Hyperion. Rolls Royce got legendary designer Jason Castriota to head the design team and constructed a Rolls Royce solely out of carbon fiber (with the exception of t

Prevention key to better rail network reliability

PREVENTION is considered the best approach to modern healthcare. Instead of treating a health issue when it occurs, it is more effective to prevent it from occurring in the first place. The same goes for our rail network. To maintain the health of this vital service, it is important for the operators, Singapore Mass Rapid Transit (SMRT) and SBS Transit, to take on the role of doctor by checking the network's pulse and reacting swiftly if it misses a beat.   Singapore has grappled with disrupti

Drivetribe bids farewell their Vauxhall's VXR8 in video

Drivetribe's Jethro Bovingdon bids a fond farewell to the Vauxhall VXR8 – and to the Australian super-saloon breed as production will soon come to an end…   Also known as the HSV GTS in Australia, the large performance sedan is fitted with a big 6.2-litre supercharged V8 unit that's a throwback to another era. Despite only having a six-speed autobox, its 576bhp and 740 Nm output masks the lack of gear ratios easily, allowing the car to display an unstressed character.   With high performanc

These are Clarkson's top five cars for 2018

This news is slightly late but these are ex-Top Gear host Jeremy Clarkson's five best cars of 2018.   As seen on Carscoops and published first in The Sunday Times, Clarkson has listed his top five cars of the year.   Bringing up the rear of the five is Aston Martin's Vantage and the Bentley's Continental GT. Clarkson didn't like the previous Continental GTs as they more of a 'footballer's car' but grew to like the new one now. As a fan of previous Vantages, the new one did not need to try h

Mugen pimps out the Honda CR-Z. And in the other corner....a SPOON version too.

It looks pretty good eh? Honda tuning arm Mugen has previewed their tuning kit for the upcoming Honda CR-Z hybrid sports coupe. However, it looks pretty good literally as not much tuning is done mechanically. The mods that would technically increase horsepower is limited to an exhaust system (most probably a cat-back only system) and air filter replacement which at the most would add about 5bhp to the total 122bhp it makes from both 1.5 liter engine and electric motor. The handling has also been

Wiper water reported to be the cause of a deadly disease.

The United Kingdom Health Protection Agency has come out with a report stating that vehicle windscreen wiper water may be the cause of many of the cases of Legionaires' Disease in England and Wales. This startling discovery was made after some research was made from medical case records. The research was conducted after a questionnaire taken from people infected revealed that most of those that caught the disease spent a lot of time in cars and vans in industrial areas with the window open. US car sales surges while China market slows down

Automakers who thought that the Chinese market is a gold mine would have to think twice. Demand in the country has slowed down towards the end of 2011 such that its sales increase is now less than what was achieved by the US market, a first for the last 14 years according to Bloomberg. Other emerging markets such as India and Brazil are slowing down as well.   Combined sales of cars, busses and trucks only rose 2.5% to 18.5 million vehicles in China in 2011, according to data released

All systems go for the MINI Clubvan

Earlier this year in January, MINI announced its plans to revive the MINI Van and showcased the vehicle at the Geneva Motor Show. The car will be based on the MINI Clubman and the company called it the MINI Cargo. At that time, there were no photos or rendered images on how the car would look like.   Just before the above mentioned auto show began, MINI showed images of the car and they also changed the name to the MINI Clubvan. Initially, the company stated that the MINI Clubvan will o

Super GT. Slowed down for all to enjoy.

The guys here at MyCarForum love our videos quite a bit. And when one as good as this comes up, we are more than happy to share it with everyone. Watch how GTChannel and Luke Huxham of Maiham Media come together to give you an artistic rendition of Japan's Super GT Round 2 at Fuji Speedway. We especially love the way Luke slowed down parts of it so that we can revel in the beauty of the cars. Guy parks his LaFerrari in his living room

While most of us love our cars a lot, I am sure your love won't be as deep or as crazy as this guy's love. According to Magazin ProDriver CZ, this owner loves his Ferrari LaFerrari so much that he parks it in his living room. We have no idea why he would want to do that because, if we had one, we would surely want to drive it around and not park it there where it could be hassle to move out if you long to drive it.   But then again, if you could afford one of Ferrari's most expensive car, you

Flat fares for peace of mind

Those in the their 50s or older will remember a time when hailing a cab involved fixing a price with the cabby before getting on board.   Even though taxi meters were made mandatory here in the mid-1950s, drivers - especially those driving illegal or "pirate" taxis - continued the practice of providing non-metered services.   In the 1970s, a policy change forced many of these drivers to become cabbies for NTUC Comfort, one of the predecessors of ComfortDelGro.   When ComfortDelGro rolls o
