Volvo S60/V60 gets 'R' treatment
Volvo has unveiled the S60 and V60 R-Designs ahead of the Paris Motor Show, in an effort to further enhance the appeal of these new models.
The R-Designs have a revised grille, modified bumpers, an aggressive rear diffuser, and unique 18-inch alloy wheels. Inside, the cabin features sport seats, aluminum pedals, and special floor mats.
To improve handling, Volvo engineers installed a strut brace, shorter springs (which reduce ride height 15mm), and stiffer bushings (20% firmer than the standard model). On top of these, they also added monotube rear dampers and Corner Traction Control which uses torque vectoring to reduce understeer.
The R-Design package can be combined with all available engines, ranging from the 115HP DRIVE 1.6-liter diesel unit to the range topping 3.0-liter turbocharged-six petrol with 304 horsepower.
