Saggi 1st Gear September 2, 2005 Share September 2, 2005 do this stuff really work.. why dun just connect all the ground to the nagative pole of the battery.. same as grounding ? any comment ↡ Advertisement
Octopus 3rd Gear September 2, 2005 Share September 2, 2005 I think it works, at least I felt the difference. Voltage stabilizer is different from grounding. Volt stab acts as a capacitor and stored up the electrical power and discharges it when needed. It supplement the car's battery. Grounding is to enable smoother electrical flows by lowering the resistance. I think every car has its own grounding when manufactured, but aftermarket ground would be beneficial, especially to older cars.
Saggi 1st Gear September 2, 2005 Author Share September 2, 2005 oh..currently i tried it on my 7 yr old toyota without the Voltage stabiliser.. can seems to be quieter but more lack of power ??
Octopus 3rd Gear September 2, 2005 Share September 2, 2005 You mean you've just installed a volt stabilizer in your ride? What I felt when I installed a volt stabilizer c/w 5 points grounding to my 14 years old car is that the acceleration is smoother. Not really more powerful, but the acceleration is constant as I shift-up gears.
Saggi 1st Gear September 2, 2005 Author Share September 2, 2005 (edited) basically I install the VS in my new car toyota wish with 4-5 contact. But since there is 3 spare ground wire left , I use it to install into my 7yr corolla without the VS , just connect directly into the negative pole of the battery. I got smoother ride no doubt but it seem some lost of power i feel... maybe it is because I cannot feel the ramming engine sound when I accelerate. Thus making me feeling the car has lost it power.. any comment ? Edited September 2, 2005 by Saggi
Octopus 3rd Gear September 2, 2005 Share September 2, 2005 So where did you ground it? (i.e. grounding point)
Pisces69 6th Gear September 2, 2005 Share September 2, 2005 Very possible as the engine runs smoother & u "feel" as though it's running slower. I did a 5 point grounding (DIY) & felt the car much smoother after that. Lights,horn,hi-fi & engine runs better due to the better electrical flow. I can easily pull to redline without much fuss. Wolverine Neutral Newbie September 2, 2005 Share September 2, 2005 do this stuff really work.. why dun just connect all the ground to the nagative pole of the battery.. same as grounding ? any comment NO i do not think it works ..at all
Octopus 3rd Gear September 2, 2005 Share September 2, 2005 Do you actually accelerate until the rpm reaches red zone? Me driving a manual and never once did my rpm touch red zone...... engine sounded so angry that I got scared.
Wolverine Neutral Newbie September 2, 2005 Share September 2, 2005 That junk is just a bloody capacitor ...it does nothing to your performance lah
Octopus 3rd Gear September 2, 2005 Share September 2, 2005 Its either the VS or the grounding (or both), there's definately a slight improvement.

York Clutched September 2, 2005 Share September 2, 2005 VS....device to regulate/stablise ur voltage/current supply...prevent a surge on ur electrical system...which may 'kill' ur components on board.... cap....a device that store ur voltage/current on a 'quicker' mode...subsiding ur battery power in a case of a sudden heavy draw by any electrical devices/components/applicances on board...mostly installed on the AMPs of the ICE system. So they r quite different on their functions...

Weasel Neutral Newbie September 3, 2005 Share September 3, 2005 Its all psychological guys/gals! Your mind plays tricks on you because after spending that amount of money, you WANT to see some improvement...no matter how insignificant it is. Basically, the amount of money you spend on performance enhancing equipment, with respect to how much you actually GAIN in performance...to me, its just not worth it. For me, i'd rather spend the $$$ (if you have too much and don't know what to do with it) on aesthetics, at least its something others (and you) can see and appreciate! :)
Wolverine Neutral Newbie September 3, 2005 Share September 3, 2005 Yeah boy.....psycological tricks on your young minds..... $90 - i'd rather spend it on 20 plates of Lau Fu Zi Char kuey tiow... Look at that dude that "designed" this crap ....what kind of crap expertise does he have ...? Some dude round the block i'd say....show me your R&D results lah...
