I just changed my car speakers all four pairs of them.CADENCE is the brand of the new speakers and they come with built in tweeters all four(Sorry i dun have the model number or something). Do you think $280 including installation for them is expensive or is it a good deal? Just like to compare see whether anywhere can get better deals next time [:)]

Frankly speaking, I can't advice u whether the price is justifiable cos HG is e only shop in SG carrying Cadence products.

Hi Koolaba

Just to tap on your expertise again :

How do you know if you have built-in tweeters? You know that I am contemplating installing a 4-channel amplifier (pending WAF), and was wondering if there are any hidden costs like upgrading speakers etc?

I'd like to keep this a low-budget / low-key thingy.

Hi Robert,

If u r referring the speakers, the tweeters are usually 0.75" to 1" wide in dia for component speakers. If u r buying component speakers, the tweeter, passive crossover n mid range drivers will come as a set. For co-axials, the tweeters are usually mounted in the centre of the mid range driver.

As for ur 4 ch amp, which model are u getting? If u r letting an installer do the installation of amp n speakers, the labour and material costs have been factored into. Are u intending to DIY? If u intend to get a sub, recommended to get 2 sets of 2 ch amps, with the more powerful one driving the sub.

I've 2ch amps to let go. Let me know if u r keen.

Hi Koolaba

I will be using existing speakers - hopefully they are coaxials - otherwise more $$$ and WAF comes into effect - sigh!!!!!!!!!!

Don't intend to DIY the setup.

Thanks for the offer - but I don't think I'll get a sub. Will keep you in mind if any of my friends need a 2-channel amp.
