Astro 1st Gear October 23, 2005 Share October 23, 2005 Hi Forumer, I'm into the final phase of selection for a car and had narrowed down to a Mit Lancer. Before I make the final plunge, could driver of Lancer provide me some feedback on my choice e.g. Fuel Consumption, Performance, Reliability, Quality, After Sales Service, Price of $54888 - BAsic CVT ?? Thanks for any information. It Helps. ↡ Advertisement
Athron Neutral Newbie October 23, 2005 Share October 23, 2005 I,m planning to buy the manual Mit Lancer glx too. Also concern on the FC( if can reach 13-14knm/l reasonbable). And also heard some say the energy noise not so good. But If slightly more noisy then toyota Vios is ok for me.As long as is a vrooming sound n not the energy weakening overly rev sound like if it going to burst off.And also the reliabilty of the car may be say 6 years of ussuage with routine maintenance care. Thanks for those lancer ower who can enlighten me .A
Kevhkm Neutral Newbie October 23, 2005 Share October 23, 2005 Hi, i've been driving my dad's lancer for the past 8 months. i must admit that while initially I did not really think that this would be a good ride, with all the bad reviews I've heard, the mit lancer has proven to be both economical and fun to drive. That is provided its the manual transmission that you're driving. I'm getting on average about 13km/l. Rather good, at least I don't get to know the pump attendant by his first name. Noisewise, not that great, but hey, sound insulation packages are available if you are bothered by road noise. Overall, I think that it is a good buy. I've been converted by the lancer into a believer of Mit vehicles, hence getting a colt for myself.
Cheeze Neutral Newbie October 23, 2005 Share October 23, 2005 Hi there! I'm currently driving a manual lancer and there are a few honest pointers that I have to make after driving it for 1.5 years. 1) fuel consumption is good( if you drive economically that is.) My average hovers around 14-15km/l. Shave 1-2 km/l for an auto. 2) The CVT is basically a "take it easy" car. Acceleration is bad, confirmed by my friend who drive one. but it's compensated by the smoothness of the transmission 3) noise wise, it's noiser than a toyota. I know because i've driven a G9 before. 4) i've no known reliability problems, except some minor irritance Hope this helps.

Oneshot1kill Neutral Newbie October 23, 2005 Share October 23, 2005 Never driven 1 before. But I think its a nice looking basic car, only thing lacking seems to be the performance - i.e. if you equate performance with torque & acceleration. But then, at this price bracket, I don't think any other new car offers the driver performance anyway.

Kevhkm Neutral Newbie October 23, 2005 Share October 23, 2005 Hi, i'm driving a manual. I think that this gives me better control over the fuel consumption of the car with my right foot. Try Soundclad for sound insulation. But seriously, that is something that with hindsight, I think can be foregone.

Headshok 1st Gear October 23, 2005 Share October 23, 2005 Hi there, Let me give you another aspect of the lancer, i'm driving a 04 manual lancer. I'm light footed but my car is done up with a lot of ICE inside, got 4 amps, a HUGE woofer box .and a lot of sound proofin material my worse FC so far was 12km.. so far, i'm gettin 14-15.. best was ard 15.5kn/l, mind you my car is damm heavy.. ( i also very fat).. my dad who is a crazy driver, average RPM is like 4k plus, like to *vroom vroom type*.. can get 11 plus for FC.. also, for me, even when the take is almost touchin the "empty mark", the most i dare pump in is 38L, and i pump once a week, so u can calculate the average cost of pertrol per month.. overall, lancer is a more stable car. my dad has taken it to 160km/h on NS high way, he says the car still damm stable.. also.. good thing is that its a jap made car.. so quality wise is still good.. and its bigger than the vios.. backseat can do a lot of things *winks*.. but boot a bit small (cos i play a lot of ICE).. but the FC is quite bad for the first 10000 km... but after change to synthetic oil, much better liao.. power wise, its 108HP, don expect too much la.. engine can scream a lot, but car don move fast.. Lancer is a good car.. have fun with ur new baby
