mine not aveo, but experience this before. Need to drive a while, then aircon start to be cold. suspect is either aircon belt (think it's the one running the compressor) and/or alternator.

But after i installed my current VS, problem solved. My conclusion is the faulty alternator.

Its not the issue of aircon take a long time to be cold under hot weather.... What i mean is that the aircon cannot turn on at all. When you press the A/C button, the light doesnt lit up. (After parking under the sun for some time) Wind down window, drive like 5 - 10 minutes, then only can turn on....

Like to know if this is a known manufacturing problem or what.. didnt find any threads on this ...

The car is parked under the sun for about an hour plus? Lunch hour like that..... I long-bang my colleague's car, so i am sure the problem is there. Always like that.. after parking in hot dun for some time... After lunch go back car no aircon.... wah lao.. hot sia.... but the aircon doesnt respond to my button push :p he bought his car for about 2 to 3 months only...

Something is definately wrong with your car. Even cars built more than 10 years ago would not have such problems.
